He is, in fact, fine. The man is immortal, after all. Nothing short of complete incineration could kill him, but one cannot fault a guy for being a little melodramatic.

The arm tightens.
She’s now actually choking him.

He woke up slowly, his vision fading back in a blur. His stomach ached with hunger and his arms burned from the odd position they were stuck in. Waking up always felt like a strange affair. His vision fades to existence, the old aches and pains come back, his voice comes back to him, and it always feels worse off to wake up than to fall asleep. He yawns widely. Ugh, his back needs to crack. “Are you quite done?” A voice cuts into his morning routine.
“I don’t think I am. Perhaps I’ll simply spend my next cycle stretching and cracking my poor aching joints.” He responds sarcastically, sounding almost mocking.
“I see you’re much more talkative than yesterday. Perfect.”
“I–” his face scrunches up.
“I do hope you’ll tell me what I want to know.”
He looks away from that lodegr. The stupid, cursed lodegr to find him. The one that’s keeping him alive for information and nothing more. She looks him up and down. Again. How many times will she insist on staring at him?

“I see I was not here first.”
Oliver, covered head to toe in blood, his boots nearly soaked through, turns towards the voice. What he finds is an angel. Literally. He literally turns to see an angel. The creature was beautiful in its own right, despite the inherent horror of finding one. Long, light blue wings sprouted from its shoulder blades and hips–if you could really call them that. The “hips” were the end of any humanoid appearance, an unnervingly human-like torso giving way to a long chocolate-coloured tail with a long tuft of fur, colour matching the wings. The neck of the angel was surrounded by criss-cross halos covered in countless eyes. His mind could not comprehend the extent of eyes. There were thousands, yet they saw as one. Those eyes were completely blank, unseeing yet seeing all. They felt as though they were looking into his soul. Into the depths of the wretched creature he had become.
