Summary
On a dark night long ago, Sirius Black took a wrong turn and never found Peter Pettigrew. Instead of Azkaban, Sirius settled down in Little Whinging to keep an eye on his godson, and hired Remus Lupin to run his bookshop for him. Then one day when Harry was eight, Sirius found out how the Dursleys treated him, and stole him away.
Stealing Harry is an alternate universe version of Harry Potter's life before his time at Hogwarts. It is the story of Harry's family: Sirius and Remus, Ted and Andromeda, Nymphadora, Neville Longbottom, and even Severus Snape, all banded together against a newly powerful Peter Pettigrew who is still searching for a way to resurrect Voldemort.
Laocoon's Children follows Harry through his time at Hogwarts as he develops a very different group of friends: Hufflepuff Draco Malfoy, Ravenclaw Padma Patil, and Gryffindor Neville Longbottom, strange companions for a Harry who was sorted into Slytherin -- the house of his beloved Professor Snape.
This universe ends in Harry's third year, and is partially incomplete. As it is not likely to be finished, the last story in the series is a group of notes I made on where the story would have gone and how it would have ended.

I’m in love with this fic. I think it’s lovely. The premise is wonderful, the story is interesting and engaging, the fusion of the two universes is flawless, and maybe most importantly the characterizations are spot on, Castiel in particular. Cas is such a difficult character too. People get Dean right all the time, he’s the hero, the righteous man, the big brother, the ladies man, the broken soul, most people can accurately capture the crunchy outside and the gooey center and this writer is no exception, in fact, Dean’s character development as he travels with Cas is very well done. But Cas is different. So many writers struggle with him, inaccurately capturing his personality, or not taking into account each facet of it. Reading this fic, I really felt that the author had a wonderful handle on who Cas is and how he interacts not only with Dean but with the rest of the world and what that shows about him on the deepest levels. Even the writing style makes you think that you’re in Cas’ head. Not to mention that I love Cas as The Doctor. I love watching my baby boys travel across space and time, having wonderful and epic adventures. I love that there are perfectly placed cannon references to both shows. I’m in love with this fic.

After being reunited with Sam and leaving Lisa, Dean is finding that adjusting back into the hunting lifestyle is harder than he thought it would be. When a particular hunt goes badly, he gets knocked out, only to awaken five years in the future. Things are definitely different; Castiel is a hunter, Sam is married and things between Dean and Castiel have gone somewhere Dean really hadn't expected. And somewhere in all of this there is a lesson to be learned.

This is me giving this fic a GLOWING review. For me, this was perfect. All of the characters were perfect and spot on. It starts with two unnamed characters talking and most people will probably figure out who they are. The situation was so plausible it's now headcanon for me. I'm using the word headcanon incorrectly. What I mean is if Destil is ever to become cannon this is how I believe that it would happen. Dean's relationship with Lisa is very well take care of. Dean's reaction to falling in love with Cas is perfectly in character but I don't even want to smack him upside the head like I usually do when there's internalized homophobia. Most importantly, Dean and Cas' relationship is captured accurately. A lot of the time I forget (sometimes on purpose) how much of an ass Dean can be to Castiel and how dysfunctional their relationship can be. As the hero and the protagonist, Dean's (and Sam's for that matter) character isn't supposed to develop much over the course of the program not like Kevin and Cas have changed since we first met them with this I felt that Dean learned his lesson but didn't change who he is and that's wonderful. This was an awesome story and I highly recommend it to all of you even if you don't ship it. As a plus this story makes Destiel cannon in the 9th season in November of 2013.

He’s not sure if it’s the weird, often oversized sweaters or his thin wrists or that black, messy hair that make him tick, but he’s pretty sure the main thing is his eyes, that, unfortunately, never look at him twice. And Dean is freaking popular, everybody looks at him twice.
Dean transferred to this school three years ago and is now a senior, and he’s been secretly ogling Castiel ever since. This distant yearning might have worked in the past years, but now it was just four months until he would graduate and leave this school forever, so he had woken up this morning and decided that fuck it, he wasn’t some 12-yearold girl; if he wanted something he would make sure he got it, even if that something was a rude hipster kid who didn't even notice his existence. End of story.

I loved this! There were a few typos but not the annoying kind. Mostly missing words or the wrong word like soar instead of sore that kind of thing. I'm only saying this because I LITERALLY just finished reading it so I remember stupid things like that. It was so sweet! I did however find that after a while I had trouble seeing most of the characters as who they were. John especially. Don't get me wrong, I love John but the man never said anything rude, mean or demanding at all. He was the perfect father. The more I read it the more everybody seemed to become an original character. That is by no means a bad thing it's just a tad trippy (especially if Supernatural is playing in the background). I think this happened because everybody was just a little bit too happy. Dean Winchester was never this happy but this is kind of how I like my AUs, happy! This was sugar sweet and just lovely to read. Did I mention that I not only fell in love with Cas (I clearly have a sweater fixation, damn you, Waves!) but also the relationship between the two boys. It was hostile and sarcastic and lovely and perfect. I probably liked it because I show affection by being bitchy and hugging at the same time :P What you should take away from this is that this was really nice and you should read it. I'm going to go see if this author has other stories!
