Summary
Beau risked a glance over her shoulder as she ran. The thing was following her, tumbling over itself with unnatural angular movements, and was catching up.
She didn’t need to wonder what would happen if the thing reached her; there was a bone-deep intuition letting her know that this thing was wrong, that it should not exist, and she should do anything in her power to avoid touching it. Perhaps a dumb animalistic instinct woken from where it had been sleeping between the coils of DNA by her sheer terror.
Geneva, Switzerland. February 1989.Both Beau and Caleb are quite sure that they understand the way of the world, be it scientific or a tad more pessimistic. But when strange and unexplainable occurrences begin haunting them they are both forced to confront the new reality: that magic is seeping into their world from another, far more dangerous one.

Summary
To whom it may concern,
This letter is to verify that the attached correspondence, documents, and various memorabilia once belonged to a mage named Laerryn Coramar-Seelie, Architect Arcane of Avalir. These were found in a box sealed by arcane means and date back to the pre-Calamity era. My deceased husband, Professor Caleb Widogast of the Soltryce Academy, unearthed the box during an exploration trip to Aeor in 837 PD. Through our research, we have found these to be authentic.
I am at your service for any other information you may require.
Regards,
E. Widogast[A transcription with commentary on various mementos and letters belonging to one Laerryn Coramar-Seelie, found in a carved box (bronze and gold inlaid with amethysts, 14 inches high x 18 inches long x 16 inches wide). Originally discovered in the ruins of Aeor in 837 PD by C. Widogast and E. Widogast. Acquired by the Cobalt Soul. ]

Summary
“I would like you to know me,” Caleb says.
It feels like a secret. Like the darkest part of him cracked open; all his months and years of hiding, of wrapping his arms and scratching the bindings, of not loving, not loving anything but an unkillable cat — it’s unraveling around him. He feels naked. He feels the way he did the first time Pumat Sol spelled him clean.
“I find that — I would like you to know me,” he says, again.
