Days roll by, and life moves on. Times have been tough for this ragtag colony of survivors, but now all that's left is to find a way to make the most of what they have.
This is a continuation of "What Must Be Done", not necessarily a sequel, more like a collection of short stories set after the original work, though there might be a loose overarching narrative throughout. Huge spoilers obviously ahead, so make sure you give the prior work a read before this, as it's meant to be taken as supplemental material to it, rather than its own standalone thing. AKA: This is just an excuse for me to keep writing about these characters because I love them.

They thought little of bringing back a couple corpses and one body with a seemingly broken hibernation cycle from a brief stop in an unfamiliar cave. On the other hand, three siblings awoke to a stunning light from above, a stolen weapon, and the particular surprise of not being dead.

You would think being thrown into a world where death is nothing but common it would majorly suck. well yes, it would indeed suck. but you know what would be even worse? being thrown into an even worser version of the world where it's almost impossible to survive.
Yeah, that's what happened to me. Never thought I would be thrown into the kaizo version of Rain World. I don't even have any powers. I'm just a simple Slugcat with pink fur... why did it have to be Pink... How have I not gone insane yet?

Rain hammered down. It was familiar to how it was back home, or at least it started out that way, but after a little while it pounded down harshly, to the point that despite his experiences with dense rain back home, it was so unfamiliar that he hated it. It screamed not Earth. It screamed not home. Not a scream of simply moving to another country, or even another continent, but another planet entirely.
He was homesick. But he didn't know how to go back. He didn't know anything.

Five Pebbles dies, and then wakes again.
Bugs that walk and talk with god-given sapience, and an orange rot that’s spread throughout the entire facility grounds. What iterator could be so irresponsible as to let such an experiment waste away? On who’s grounds has he landed?
He is no bug, and this is no maze. Oh, what is a machine to do?
(in the meanwhile, the bugs look at this creature- pink, long, with too-rigid antennas and no mandibles to speak with yet so many things to say, and they see a remnant of their king. They do not realize that perhaps his kind are closer to vessels than to gods.)
TL;DR: angry calculator god in a world of bugs. Assumptions are made.

That happiness let her ignore the blight, the flooding, the pollution. It let her ignore the brutality of the world, splashing in ponds with her beloved pups while swiping at trees for fruits and bats.It let her relax and let her guard down, a foolish mistake.
Because one cycle, everything would change forever.

Summary
The Saint has begun yet another excursion, to undo what cannot be undone.
Cultures leave marks on the world. For the ancients, those marks are iterators. While their architecture and memory will fade and allow new life to thrive, their robotic gods do not die easily. The Saint is responsible for dealing with problems like that.
But on their quest to find a few specific collapsed iterators, they find an odd red slugcat. A warmonger, a carnivore, an Artificer. And despite their anger, despite their coldness… Saint cannot help but find something in them.
And perhaps, with his help… she will find something in herself.
It’s an artisaint au!! Saint and arti are going on a journey to find love, and the iterators. And probably the worm pond, eventually. emphasis on AU by the way. Saint has some tricks up his sleeve. :)

Summary
Five Pebbles was pretty sure his story was coming to an end, alone in the snow, covered by his collapsed superstructure with no way out.
The world, however, gave him a second chance in the form of a weird green thing that seemed to...
...Throw him back in time?
Now with memories of freezing cold and information on how to not only fix the rot, but also fix Moon as well, he promised himself he would do whatever he could to never have to relive this awful cold all alone.
The isolation, cold, pain, and hundreds of thousands of cycles worth of thinking made him dead set on never going through that ever again. Even if that meant ripping off his umbilical before that could ever happen.In the meantime... The rest of the local group is confused. After all, the Pebbles they knew was a pretensious jerk who killed Moon then cut all communications, but the one that came back to them was a paranoid mess who seemed to space out every few minutes.
