Summary

When Hans leaves to undertake his duty as a nobleman, Henry does not follow. He cannot bring himself to see the man he loves marrying another. So he stays at the forge and writes letters in reply to Hans' ones. They are letters that he never sends. He learns how to live with his grief and a silent pining for the man he loves.
Years later, when duty loosens its grip at last, Hans returns to Kuttenberg to seek Henry out and possibly rekindle what they once shared.

But that’s the whole reason he’s here, isn’t it? He’s not out here hunting Humans. He’s not even hunting deer, or bears, or anything else that featured in Bambi. He’s out here, freezing his nuts off every night, because he’s hunting Angels.
Sometimes Dean wishes that Angels were like how they’re described in the Bible. How people from time too old for him to care much about thought Angels were messengers and warriors of God, protectors of Humans. He knows that how they’re really described in the Bible is actually pretty terrifying, but at least they were told by God that they’re supposed to love Humans, right?
That’s a thousand times better than what Angels really turned out to be.

Summary
Each year, without fail, the people of Lebanon have a drawing to choose a sacrifice. Someone offered up to the Angels in order to garner favor, to spare the rest of them, to keep their crops hail and hearty. It appears to work, so they keep doing it. Dean has always been dubious of this archaic method, doubly so as to the very existence of Angels. That doesn’t stop him from going on the offensive when an Angel appears in his forge one night. He never expected to meet one in person, but once he does, they’re not anything like what he would have expected. In short order a close friendship forms between Human and Angel. One that lasts for years, and as they grow from teenagers to adults, that friendship evolves into something more.

“You’re..” Her finger pointed at Lucifer, whom seemed to grow more embarrassed as his pale face grew more flushed. “..really? When was this decided?” The princess’ curiosity itched more, her hands lowering but still hovered.
Alastor stepped in with his filtered voice ringing out to somewhat save Lucifer from the situation as much as he loved his daughter. “Yes, my dear. You will soon find yourself having to take care of a relative of your own.”
