Ding!
The cafe is a cozy little thing, oddly named The Tainted Cafe. It’s decorated with caramel-colored woods and walls filled to the brim with various posters and photos. There are even a few plants strewn about near the front windows.
However, what catches his eye is not the warm interior, but the cafe’s fiery-headed worker. The man looks like he's about to drop dead, with eye bags deep enough to reach his soul. Still, there's a certain beauty to him. There’s his striking red hair, which stands out against his pale skin, lightly dotted with freckles- and oh, his eyes, one blue and one brown, are so mesmerizing to look at. If he looks long enough, he thinks he might get lost in the storm of emotion and color churning just below the surface.
“Welcome to The Tainted Cafe, what can I get for ya?” The man, Chuuya, reads his nametag, greets.

Kayla groaned loudly, throwing her hands up toward the sky like she was begging their father for patience. “You’re impossible. Seriously. If Hermes' kids can steal wallets under your nose, then Aphrodite's kids can flirt right under it, too. It’s their whole thing. And you’re standing there acting like it’s just… personality quirks.”
Will frowned, trying to make sense of it. “But he asked me to fix his grip. That’s archery, not flirting.”
“That’s flirting disguised as archery,” Kayla corrected. “When you adjust someone’s hands and they lean in too close, that’s textbook.”

It starts with a snowball fight—Will Solace glowing beneath winter lamplight, laughter catching in the cold air like a hymn. Nico didn’t know his name then. Only that something shifted inside him when he saw him. A dangerous shift. The kind that leads to emotions. He should’ve gone back inside.
Over four seasons, fascination turns to yearning, and yearning becomes… inconvenient. Borderline humiliating. Unbearable, if we’re being dramatic about it—which Nico always is.
He watches from afar: in libraries, lecture halls, between bookshelves at the Greek-myth inspired bookstore where Will works. His friends begin to meddle, armed with suspicion and absolutely no boundaries. They nudge him closer to the boy with sunlit hair and steady hands, like it’s a group project. Nico resists. Obviously. He’s always been good at hiding. But hope, unfortunately, is harder to kill in spring.
A story of longing, silence, and slow-burning desire—of one emotionally repressed classics student learning, painfully and against his will, that his heart is still very much alive and extremely annoying about it.

Mafia ties? Maybe. Vampire coven? Sure. Time travelers from an alternate dimension? Definitely plausible.
Will’s sure he’s never stood a chance… until a spilled drink, a cigarette on a balcony, and one very unexpected dinner invitation send him spiralling into Nico’s orbit. Now he’s stuck somewhere between flirting and a full-blown existential crisis.
