Summary
This fic is my response to the question,"What would Mycroft Holmes do to rescue Greg Lestrade from the very determined arms of Death?"
The answer's obvious, isn't it? He'd do anything. Anything at all.
Hence, this is a time-loop fic in which Mycroft is jet-lagged, Eurus is creepy, Greg is quite wonderful until he dies (repeatedly, but also temporarily), Anthea is confused but supportive, the Prime Minister is kind, Sherlock and John are helpful (sort of), it rains an awful lot, Mycroft’s coat is very clean, and tomorrow is a new day.
Until it isn’t.

Badly wounded protecting a young Auror in training he is facing a bleak future from the bottom of a bottle of firewhiskey until the headmistress of Hogwarts offers him a lifeline. Hogwarts has always been a home for the lost boys and girls and Greg is happy to return there. New friends and the poorly-concealed interest of the handsome Transfiguration teacher make Greg realise he might not be a lost cause after all.

Mycroft assumed this evening would be like many others: enjoy the man's company over tea, don't make things awkward by mentioning how attractive he found him, go home afterwards and focus on work to avoid pining. Surviving sniper fire and running for their lives turned out to have much more interesting results.

That wasn’t fair, though, was it? It wasn’t fair of him to expect anything from Aziraphale. Not friendship, not companionship, and certainly not love. It was downright cruel, actually, to expect an angel to love something like him.
Crowley was a demon, Fallen from Grace, cast out. It was in his job description, hardwired into his dark wings and reptilian eyes, to be unloveable. To be unworthy of love. And it was even crueler, he thought, for a demon to dare fall in love with an angel.
So why did Crowley feel like his heart was cracking in two, his ribs splintering and his blood freezing?

It being a large, black snake curled up on a chair in the last patches of quickly fading sunlight.
Elena jerked to a stop with a gasp, right in the middle of the pavement. She all but pressed her face to the window, studying the snake curiously. It was quite large, even coiled as it was in its big leather armchair, and although its golden eyes appeared to be open, she could tell that it was probably snoozing. “What a beautiful creature,” Elena said to herself in a hushed, awed voice, and then made the snap decision to go inside the shop for another look.
