Summary
Following a smidge of time-line fuckery, Gale meets a handsome stranger in the Yawning Portal - a stranger who seems to know far too much about him, to be far too invested in his life and his happiness, and to be far too attractive to let slip through his fingers.
The stranger also happens to be an incredibly welcome distraction from the otherwise miserable and confusing hellscape that is Gale Dekarios's personal life. His mother worries about him constantly, his familiar won't talk to him about anything that matters, his mentor won't tell him anything useful, and his goddess is making cryptic and increasing demands.
OR: Gale meets a handsome vampire in 1487 who seems deadset on making all his problems go away, with some strings attached.

Summary
At night, alone in his bedroll, Astarion’s mind wanders. Away from himself, his body, his own recursive and increasingly irritating patterns of thought—it wanders and it wanders until it, eventually, ends up back where it started. Astarion on his knees, entertaining someone else.
He has spent two hundred years fantasizing about freedom—ludicrous dreams, where he is fed, where he is warm, where he parts Cazador’s head from his neck with his fangs—the stupidest, most basic, crudest ideas of what he might do if only he had the power to control himself. And now that he has that control, he fantasizes about someone taking it away again.
Specifically, he fantasizes about Wyll.
For some time, now, Astarion has fantasized about Wyll Ravengard putting him in his place. This isn't a problem, until suddenly it is.

Summary
Shadowheart has told Astarion that the TV show set she’s working on needs a costume supervisor. Astarion has been in and out of the industry for years, but he’s always wanted to get into working with costumes. Everything changes when he discovers that his old, abusive ex's production company is funding the TV show. Of course, deciding that Cazador can't keep controlling him like this, he takes the job. Then he meets famous actor Gale Dekarios on set one day. Things like this tend to get complicated, don’t they?
Once again, no non-con between the main pair, it's really just canon typical stuff. You know. Cazador and Mystra being Cazador and Mystra.

Summary
"You want me, yes? But you've never tried to initiate anything. Never demanded I get you off. You're completely content with waiting for me to make my move. It's been weeks. Why?"
"You haven't wanted to, and that's fine."
"Did you ever consider asking me? Perhaps get my opinion on things?" Astarion snapped, shoving their hand away.
Tav's face was deeply flushed, and they refused to look at him. He had never seen them like this. "I didn't notice we stopped having sex..."
He was in disbelief. "You didn't notice?"
Astarion knows how to be what people want, and Tav knows how to be what people need.
He's seen himself reflected in Tav on a number of occasions, and he's ashamed at how long it took him to put the pieces together.Or, Astarion and Tav are two people in a relationship that neither of them are ready for. They fuck, talk, and stumble their way into something resembling a healthy relationship in the end.

Summary
"Sure, he’s glad, relieved, to learn Wyll is still alive, but how? Wouldn’t ceremorphosis have been their fate, if not for the artifact, and since Karlach and Wyll parted with it when they left the party, they—
Oh.
Astarion wants to blame the hit to the head because, surely, he isn’t usually this slow? Wyll and Karlach must be following them, since for all they probably hated their guts after they spilled the refugees’, they still wouldn’t fancy turning into mindflayers."Or, Wyll leaves with Karlach, and Astarion stays with an evil, cruel leader. Their paths still cross, and, perhaps, change.

Summary
The pale elf stood stock-still. His eyes betrayed no alarm.
“Astarion,” Halsin huffed. “My apologies. I thought myself alone, and must not have been aware of my surroundings. I hope I didn’t startle you.”
Astarion smirked, his frame breaking into the languid, theatrical stance Halsin found familiar. “My dear druid, I live for surprises. And you,” he purred, his eyes sweeping over Halsin’s expansive torso, “are a pleasant surprise indeed.”
Halsin felt his face grow hot. He disregarded the reaction. Astarion wore his flirtation like a cloak; to be donned when useful, and otherwise set aside. He chuckled, “Well, then, I bid you goodnight. If we’re to tackle the Gauntlet of Shar tomorrow, we’ll sorely need our rest. Walk safely.” He sidestepped the smaller elf and made to continue his walk back to camp.

Summary
This story takes place after the issues in game, and after another story of mine called Never Say No. (please see notes)
Story so far is that after attempting to live in the city with Astarion, it became obvious that Halsin’s calling was in the renewed and healing shadowlands that were liberated in game.
Astarion, in effort to make Halsin happy, agreed to Halsin setting up a grove there for the people that get trampled underfoot in the streets of Baldurs Gate.
Halsin is throwing himself into his work, rather than deal with the traumas he faced from Cazador (and more besides), and Astarion is feeling out of his depth and also struggling.
Druids arrived and started throwing their weight around, which resulted in their leader Harben letting own prejudices get in the way.

The great Szarr palace. Home sweet home."

The villains are defeated. The heroes claim their victory. Astarion sinks down to exactly where he started. Gale plots his apotheosis. Somehow, they meet in the middle.

Summary
Wyll Ravenguard is familiar with monsters. Monsters give him purpose: something to fight, a reason to keep moving forward, to avoid looking over his shoulder at the city and the home that he will never be welcome in again.
Then, he leaves Avernus with a mindflayer’s tadpole writhing through his brain. Then, he learns that the fiend he’d sworn to kill is an innocent tiefling. Then, his own personal devil tears the flesh from his bones and warps his body permanently, beyond his recognition.
Then, he wakes up in the calm of an otherwise quiet night to a vampire spawn’s teeth in his neck.
(Or: Wyll Ravenguard reshapes his definition of monsters. And maybe falls in love.)

Summary
Astarion is near the docks when he feels Cazador's compulsion on him snap. He doesn't think twice. He just takes the next available ship out of Baldur's Gate. Its destination: The City of Splendors. Waterdeep.
*
Gale takes back the glass, now empty, and then seems to fidget a little. “There is something I wanted to get your opinion on- but it can wait until you’ve recovered. You don’t look well at all- no offense meant, of course.”
“None taken,” Astarion says sweetly. “Please go on. Tell me exactly what it is about my appearance that you find lacking.”

Summary
He watches, his thoughts a jumbled mess of malice and mirth, as the poor vendor sweats and stammers.
Every needle and thread he ever owned he did unspeakable acts for, just to keep the clothes on his back from fraying, from flaying the way his skin so often did.
He sees as his companion lowballs the merchant and yet the trade is made, and the fine satin fabric is hers for the taking.
She gifts it to him with a smile, and he knows not how to react.
~*~
Or: Five times Astarion is reminded of owning nothing, and five times his traveling companion gifts him trinkets to change that.
