A knock at the door startled Furina, sending several stuffed sea creatures tumbling in a fluffy avalanche. Who would dare to bother her so late in the evening? No one had come call in the few days she’d lived here. It could be someone from the Palais Mermonia with belongings she had forgotten. Glancing around at the piles of unopened boxes, she hoped it wasn’t.
Furina dragged her body out of bed and over to the door. It opened with a twist of the handle as she mumbled.
“Who is it?”
Her eyes locked on amber ones, then onto the tender smile on their face. White dress fluttered in the breeze. Furina’s face burned an even deeper shade of scarlet. Archons, save her.
Two women pined from across the theatre. Now, after the Prophecy has comes to pass, one has gained freedom but lost purpose, whilst the other seeks her out.

I’ve wished that I could feel like that for someone, anyone, for the longest time, and it’s just never happened. I see you two, looking at each other with so much damn love when the other one isn’t looking, and it makes me want to scream. Life is so short, so go for it. I know you don’t want to risk what you’ve got, but you can have so much more.” She poked his cheek, dead center in his small cluster of freckles. “Just think about it, promise me that.”
