Summary
“Ice, don’t move.” Maverick’s voice is uncharacteristically serious, and the crack makes Goose nervous. He’s never heard him sound like this.
“I know, Mav.” He holds the plane steady, no longer even thinking about the Bogie plane. For all he knows, it’s long since flown off.
“I’m serious, I can’t-”
“I know.” Ice replies into the comms, terrified of swerving too far and getting the plane behind him caught in his jetwash again.
“Tom, you don’t understand-”
“Pete. Listen. I know.”
Silence over the radio.
“Oh.”
Or, Ice and Mav are thrown back in time and wake up on the morning of Hop 31. Neither of them is going to let the past repeat itself.

Summary
And hell, if Robby was going to get all up in Jack's business, he could return the favor. "Why didn't you tell me you were on shift today?"
Jack actually felt Robby tense against him. "I told you I was leaving today."
Which didn't actually answer his question. "As the priests liked to remind me, a lie by omission is still a sin," he drawled.

Summary
"It wasn’t that Robby hated his birthday. No, hatred implied having strong feelings about something, strong enough to form a solid, concrete opinion about it. Robby was… Ambivalent. It wasn’t really a big deal to him, it was just any other day, except for the fact that this particular day marked one more wretched year around the sun for the man known as Dr. Michael Robinavitch."

Robby must grapple with the fact that his husband, in fact, loves him and wants to celebrate him on a day he'd rather not think about

Summary
The air in their room is cool, but Dennis still winds two warm arms around Robby’s neck, ignoring the way it makes him shiver, nose tucking into his collar as he clings onto him a little longer than necessary.
Robby indulges him though, gently running a hand through Dennis’ hair before he finally pulls away.
“I’ll see you later sweetheart,” he whispers, then, as he pulls back, “Behave.”
The latter part is directed at Jack, who snorts.
“No promises.”

Summary
He mutters, "I'm not letting go until you tell me what you're going to do when you've crossed state lines."
"I told you," Robby huffs, "Beer. Hot apple cider. Maybe a chicken pot pie on the porch of some good Samaritan who takes pity on me."
"Yeah? Chicken pot pie?" Jack hums, raising his eyebrows, receiving an affirming nod from the other. "Gonna go on a stereotypical-ass spirit journey? That's what you're going to do, Michael? That's the reason you hugged me like that? Like you were savoring it?"

And Michael Robinavitch would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for Jack Abbot.

Summary
Whitaker has never called out sick for any job he’s had. Not even at six years old with chicken pox, crying as he fed the chickens and Noah folded himself over the fence to tell him that he might as well try the feed too while he was at it since he was turning into a chicken himself. Not even his newspaper route at thirteen when the only things that held the jagged flesh of his thigh together were paper towels and an ace bandage. And none of the days leading into a full moon night where he feels like his skin is stretched too tight over his bones and any wrong move could split him apart at his seams and birth a monster onto the scuffed white floor of the ED.
Sometimes hearing everything means you hear nothing at all. Between the beeping and whirring and murmuring and shouting and rolling and squeaking and slamming, Whitaker could have thought once an emergency department might be hell on earth. But all that noise around him means he can’t hear any of the noise within him, and that is in itself a blessing.
[Or Whitaker's first full moon at the Pitt.]

“Like I said, I'm a confident man." Jack pushed his thumb into Robby's mouth. He opened obediently and sucked, eyes fluttering.
“You got an itch, baby?” Jack smiled sweet and dark. “It’s the curls, I knew it. Us silver foxes, we gotta stick together." He withdrew and traced the spit-damp finger down Robby's throat. Robby squirmed beneath him. "Should I pierce my nose, Robby? Is that what gets you hot?"

A particularly tragic case has left Robby low. Jack comes over to raise his spirits, and though Robby is one secretive son of a bitch when it comes to his own feelings, everything seems like it will be okay.

As he starts the long road to recovery, Robby and Jack wrestle with the aftermath. Not only dealing with the devastation of his partner trying to take his own life, Jack struggles with his moral obligations as a doctor, a friend, and a partner. Jack cuts him off instantly. “Absolutely not. You got no lips and half a brain cell right now.”
Robby huffs, in fact, he uses his entire tiny reptile torso to huff, ribs expanding, breath puffing out of him like steam from a toy train.
“You wanna drink tea? Shift,” Jack says with a shrug as he crutches over to the dining room table, leaning on one crutch as the other one dangles. “Ain’t my problem you’re lazy.”
(Or, Robby can shift into a leopard gecko. But he’s stupid about it).
