Answering and bringing the phone to his ear, Ilya tries to decide what he’s expecting to hear.

Ilya turned his head slowly, disbelieving. “Figured it out?”
“To be fair, you and I weren’t exactly subtle in Montreal,” Shane said, sheepishly.
Ilya huffed, scowling.
“So, she knows.” He swallowed. “Everything?”
“I mean, not all the gory details,” Shane said, shrugging. “But enough.”
There was a pause long enough for the surf to swell and retreat twice.
“And? What?” Ilya asked finally, jaw tight. “She is… disgusted?”
Shane actually snorted. “Uh. No.”
“No?”
“No,” Shane said again, dragging a hand down his face. Then, half-laughing, “She, um. She thinks it’s fucking hot.”

"I-. No, Ilya, I gotta pee." Shane bit the inside of his lip as he waited. He could hang up, but he wasn't rude. He also didn't want to hang up just yet either. Something twisted in his gut and Shane wasn't sure if it was anxiety or excitement.
"I know, Shane, but it's not big deal."
Shane wanted to argue some more, but he'd started tip-toeing around with urgency and he didn't have several minutes to spare. "This is… this is just not—"
"Oh you've never pissed in front of your teammates before?" Ilya said it with that hint of friendly arrogance that Shane loved to call him up on. Asshole, he thought as he shook his head.
"It's not the same," Shane said as he set his phone down onto the back of the toilet. Was he agreeing to this? Surely he could hand up.
