It was Kakashi who stopped walking first. Then Sakura. Then Naruto. Sai only stopped when he realized his teammates had, and Yamato walked right into him, still fuming and completely oblivious. He stumbled back after colliding with Sai and, upon noticing the majority of his teammates staring at him wide-eyed, looked around trying to figure out why.
“Yamato-taichō,” Sakura started quietly, still frozen mid-step, hands clenched around the straps of her backpack. “Were you and Kakashi-sensei...in the...same sleeping bag?”
Kakashi had seen tomatoes less red than Yamato’s face.

A reminder that Yamato (Tenzō, Kinoe, whoever) knew him. Knew him well. It was something Kakashi had missed without realizing it was gone until now. It made the contented smile on his face widen just a fraction.

Tenzō frowned at the teasing, even though he knew it was meant in good fun.
“Ooh, yes!” Anko agreed, reaching out clumsily to grasp Tenzō’s forearm. “Tell us about Konoha’s Sharingan Kakashi!!”
Tenzō blanched. They didn’t really think he was going to start divulging Kakashi’s secrets, did they?
