Steve huffs begrudgingly. He doesn’t really want to spend his Tuesday and Thursday nights watching some random kid, but arguing with his mom when she’s already made up her mind is like trying to stop a freight train with brute force. “Okay. I’ll do it.”
Tuesday comes far, far too fast.
Steve pulls up to the Byers’ house just after five, the late September sun transforming almost everything in Hawkins into shades of orange. The house is strikingly small, set back from the road with a cluttered yard and a worse for wear front porch. It certainly isn’t the place Steve usually finds himself, and he feels weirdly conspicuous as he gets out of his mom’s car. He realizes, he’s never really seen the shitty part of Hawkins too much. A small surge of rare gratefulness rushes through him.Or, when Steve takes on the job of babysitting a young Will Byers, his life changes in some various unpleasant ways.

It was one of the whole reasons Bruce pulled him off the streets! But maybe he just meant guys in alleyways. The rules could be different in the hero world.

Thoughts turn to floods. Words become shrouded. Touches become weapons, a storm of arrows raining on her mind at night, spearing her with the want to give him what he wants. To follow him to his room at night. To step close and trickle a hand down his chest; to be a waterfall pooling at his hips.
Hazard zone.
With the responsibility of leading the New Avengers weighing on her, Yelena can only hope she's strong enough to save the people who need saving. She faces her fears by emptying mags and pushing her body to oblivion. That's always the plan.
Half a year is how long it takes for Yelena to be afraid of what Bob means to her. She's pretty sure fighting isn't her best option anymore.

Summary
Steve wonders how it would be to have a family, he remembers those missions where he had to play the role of someone's kid, and as fucked up as it sounds those were his fondest memories; Now he is stuck with a family that is not really his, a body of a kid burried in the backyard and a role he forced himself to play, or at least that was until a new family was introduced to him in a form of interdimensional monsters, loud children and a pair of weird adults (parents).
Basically a fic of Steve being Seven and going through all the seasons with all the implications of him being a lab kid and powers that are meant to hurt and destroy and obviously trying to hide it.

Summary
Jason Todd didn’t die at the hands of the Joker. Maybe in some other universe, Bruce didn’t get there in time and he didn’t make it out. Maybe in some other universe, Bruce lost a son, Dick lost his little brother and Jason died alone at the hands of a mad man. Not in this one. All though, sometimes Bruce thinks it might have been easier if he didn’t make it out.
This is just the families journey through getting their son/brother/grandson back. Some of it is easier said than done.
