Summary
"Tell me a story."
A life in ten words. If you could condense it, if it were possible, who would you trust them with? Who would you pick to know them, speak them; to translate your own words to you after you've forgotten their original meaning?
Three years after the Battle of New York, Alexander Pierce is the President of the United States and the leader of the Global Crisis Council. Having lost its Avengers, the world remains quiet in the face of mass exterminations by the newly built Trinity weapon.
The Black Widow sends Steve Rogers, the dearly not-quite-departed Captain America, on a mission to help an old friend. Steve’s memories, and his willingness to confront them, might hold the key to recovering crucial intel to bring about Hydra’s final defeat.
…or, the one in which Steve has to help Bucky decode the Winter Soldier's activation words and realizes they're all about him.

Summary
It is true I ran faster than the other when they told us a miracle had happened, but it was not in the hopes of finding the tomb empty.
Forgive me Lord, my God, I repeated with bated breath, that over any salvation, over eternal life, I’d choose your dirty, mangled palms scraping iron nails down the unmarked skin of my back each time.
That, more than anything, what I'd wanted back was your body.
In Gethsemane, Jesus barters with the Father for the life of his beloved disciple. The outcome is not what anyone expected (or wished for). So it is that John waits - not for the Second Coming of his Lord, but a last glimpse of his lover.

Summary
It can’t be, he repeats as a mantra. I survived a nuclear explosion; I survived a crash and close to a hundred years buried deep on the ocean floor. Sleeping. You survived a drop from an impossible height, your limbs torn and mangled, every bone in your body splintered, cutting through nerve and flesh and vein. You survived torture and brainwashing, and, despite the best efforts of some of the world’s best scientists, I survived, in you.
In the future of the past we are living in, I will wake up in a new century and say your name. You will look at a man standing on a bridge, a man you were sent to kill, but you won’t.
So this can't be how it ends, Buck. If it's our story, it has no ending.
The man Howard Stark saves in the 1950s cannot be Captain America: the spot has already been taken. There is only one mission the freshly thawed Steve Rogers is interested in, anyway: saving Bucky. What happens when he accomplishes the task in record time?
...or, the one where Steve and Bucky zig-zag across the Eastern Bloc to discover which purpose ghosts can serve and whether things left unsaid in a previous life are easier to confess the second time around.

Summary
How do you weave your sense of self back into a cohesive narrative, when your life's been orchestrated by a paternalistic asshole you were in love with, in one moment in time, that you've only just remembered in your seventies?
Or, the one in which Daniel ruminates about memory, agency, and the importance of making your own choices at the end of Season 1.

Summary
It takes Bucky a minute each morning to orient himself in time and space. My name is Bucky, he starts the litany-of-things-he-knows-beyond-a-shadow-of-a-doubt. I was born in 1917. I died in 1945, the first time. 2018, the second. It's 2023 now, and I'm in Budapest with Steve, who is older now. Being with Steve is a good thing.
Steve is back to what he naively thought would be the final act of a life well lived. It doesn't take long to see that nothing will go according to plan: after a conspiracy threatens his friends, he finds his desire for justice outweighs wishful thinking about retirement. To set things right, he'll need to use a bit of what Bruce had gotten wrong while planning the Time Heist and – more importantly – internalize the words of a wise woman who once told him that sometimes, the best that we can do is to start over.
...or, the one with post-Snap/post-Blip politics, in which Bucky and Old Man Steve drink coffee while discussing existential questions with their psychoanalyst neighbor.
