Summary
Takumi's phone rings and he jolts up, almost dropping the thermos. He sets it down beside him with a clatter and digs his phone out of his pocket. "Hey?"
"Takumi." Keisuke's voice filters through the speakers, just a touch tinny but still with that unmistakable roughness from cigarette smoke. "I'm out front."
"Keisuke, I'll be out in a sec." Takumi grabs the thermos with one hand and rests his phone against his shoulders. "Dad, I'm going out!"
His dad grumbles something but he already has his phone back against his ear to catch the tail end of Keisuke's laughter. "See ya soon," Keisuke says before ending the call.

Summary
Ryousuke steps further into Nobuhiko's apartament, slipping into the living room. Nobuhiko lays curled up on the couch, a blanket bunched up by his shoulders. Hikari follows Ryousuke in her tank as he walks around the couch. He leans over and fixes Nobuhiko's blankets, a soft smile pulling at his lips.
Seeing Nobuhiko asleep like this, even if it's likely an impromptu nap, makes Ryousuke want to just lay down next to him.
Ryousuke brushes some of Nobuhiko's hair behind his ear, lingering with a hand cupping his cheek.Ryousuke's smile drops from his face.
Nobuhiko's skin is fever-hot and clammy.

Summary
Nobuhiko lays curled up on the bed, the blankets pulled up to his face. All Ryousuke can make out is messy curls against the pillow. Ryousuke sits on the other side of the bed and reaches over to pull the blanket away from Nobuhiko's face. He cups Nobuhiko's cheek, running his thumb along the faint blush staining his skin.
His cheek is warm against Ryousuke's hand.
Nobuhiko opens his eyes into a squint, shifting to meet Ryousuke's gaze. "Ryo?"
Ryousuke brushes some of Nobuhiko's bangs out of his eyes. "You feel like you have a fever, love."

Summary
Kenji shakes his head and holds out another pair of gloves. "You need to stop forgetting these."
"I didn't forget them." Iketani takes the gloves, pulling them on over his aching fingers. Even the thin layer of fabric helps combat some of the chill in the air. Kenji gives him a pointed look and Iketani shoves the knotted lights at his chest. "Here, untangle these."
Kenji grabs them, piling them in his arms to stop them from spilling all over the ground. He gives Iketani a grin. "I just got here and you're already putting me to work."
"I gave you the easy job." Iketani nudges the boxes out of his way with his foot and frees the ladder from its place against the wall.

Wataru nudges Nobuhiko's side with his elbow, leaning over to peer at his plate. "Not hungry?"
Nobuhiko lifts his coffee mug and shoves the plate over to Wataru. "You can have it."
Wataru looks between the plate and Nobuhiko, a frown pulling at his lips. "Everything okay?"
"Why wouldn't it be?" Nobuhiko takes a sip of his coffee, giving Wataru a tired look. The coffee is bitter and burnt, but the caffeine is well-needed

Summary

Summary
Five couldn’t move, standing by and watching complacently, as his younger brother grabbed him roughly by the front of his sweater. It was like he was watching a play he wasn't apart of, yet that was definitely his small body being tossed over the balcony. No doubt, Luther thought that he would just jump out of the way. He'd always jumped out of the way, sometimes without even meaning to, but now visions of a world on fire flashed through his head as his body plummeted towards the ground. Seemingly, he was tumbling through the air in slow motion and absentmindedly, Five wondered if this was his life flashing before his eyes. All he saw was the desolate world he’d left behind weeks ago.
When Five hit the ground, it was with a sickening cracking noise.
“Oh my god, Luther, what have you done?”
