Summary
His knees hurt from sitting on the tile; his head hurts from the nonstop pounding; his entire body is sweating profusely while also feeling as though it’s about to freeze to death. He sheds his dress shirt and tie before stumbling through the doorway to the bed and collapsing, curling up into a ball. The uncomfortable feeling of his sheets touching skin is reviling, but overpowered by the sheer fatigue dragging his soul down.
Akechi falls asleep to the sound of his own heavy breathing. The messy, quiet apartment might as well be housing a corpse instead of a human being.
Or, Ren nursing Akechi back to health.

Summary
After the Metaverse collapsed, everyone moved on. Not Akira, though. What was Akira without Joker, without his arsenal of masks, without the purpose that had made his unsatisfying life whole? His parents despise him, his hometown believe he's a murderer, and Shido's conspiracy follows him everywhere he goes. There had always been more to Akira than Joker, though. Maybe, if he sees himself through his friends' eyes and lets someone special in, he can escape this dark, dangerous spiral.

"Well, Takamaki, Suzui, and Sakamoto are going to the shrine tomorrow?" Goro tilts his head and tries not to stare. He fails. "Yoshizawa invited us too."
"Big crowd," Ren says, staring at the bubbling pot. He shuffles from foot to foot, one hand on his neck like he does when he's really lying. "We'd have to…you know, accommodate their schedules."
"You didn't want to see Boss or Futaba?" Goro puts his hand on his chin and bites his lip. It all seems plausible, but the excuses pile up on top of each other. Goro's spent years studying Ren Amamiya. He knows all his tells and their severity. Ren, very deliberately, looks away. "They even texted me to ask you."
Ren doesn't like New Year's Day. Goro's determined to find out why.

Summary
One year after evading a grim demise, Goro Akechi's managed to find his footing in a post-Thieves world... kind of. Aside from the use of sarcasm and the surprisingly sage advice of a self-help book, Goro's still not sure of the right way to handle the weight of his regrets, his obligation to the world at large, or the matter of his... feelings... for Ren Amamiya. But sometimes it's not about fate, angel numbers, or the caprices of false gods. Sometimes, it's just that the only path leads forward— so, with the chance you're given, you steal ahead.

“Why…” He shakes his head, faltering over his words. What can he say to that? “What’s wrong with what we have?” He asks, wetting his lips and then it hits him, even before Amamiya speaks the words.
“There is nothing wrong, I just…” The thief looks almost shy, smiling down at Goro like that. “I’d like more.”
Love triumphs over all - except, well, Goro doesn't think he ever felt love. Isn't sure if he is able to love at all.
Ren has opinions on that.
