Summary
It’s been almost twelve years since vampires have overtaken society. Humans are reduced to either slaves and cattle, and those who refused to be enslaved are executed. The ruling class, the aristocracy, has taken to overseeing humanity’s subjugation. An organization, known as Sanctuarium Obscurium, is dedicated to hunting and studying vampires in the hopes of giving humanity a fighting chance, even though they’re fighting a losing battle.
Until a group of revolutionists shakes things up.
Vladimir Masters, a member of the aristocracy, decides to team up with Jack and Maddie Fenton, a pair of vampire hunters who are looking for their missing friend, to hunt down these revolutionists. Vladimir promises the couple that, should they succeed, their organization would be protected, and be marketed as a sort of safe haven for humans. Reluctantly, they agree to take on Masters’s proposal, and proceed to target the revolutionists.
But not everything is as clear cut as it seems. And both Maddie, and Jack will be forced to reckon with the mistakes they’ve made in the past, as well as the children they’ve left behind.

Summary
Danny already thought he didn't understand ghost customs very well. He certainly doesn't understand them any better when Walker tries to muzzle him.
OR: Danny doesn't understand how ghost sex works and no one has bothered to explain those customs to him. When his tongue falls out as part of "ghost puberty," he suddenly is getting way more info about it than he ever wanted. Walker just assumes since Danny's mom is a portal, clearly he wasn't raised right and needs someone to stop him from knocking some poor ghost up.
