The group has been separated so they're seeking to reunite. Split into three groups of two, they face different circumstances.
Logan and Taylor are trapped in the place they thought they had escaped with their familys' lives hanging over them like puppet strings, keeping them compliant.
Tyler and Aiden are on the run, haunted by dreams they can't dissect while trying to figure each other out, Aiden having tied a web of lies and Tylers worry for his sister growing like an unstoppable force.
Ben and Ashlyn are also on the run, the group having gone radio silent on them. No matter where they go, danger follows them, causing them to get their hands bloody in more than one way.
On the flipside, they're all being chased by familiar bodies that they have strange connections to while having to adapt to the new set of rules and laws of the Phantom Realm.
The path to New York is more than just bumpy, it's treacherous… and is it even the right way to go?

Logan’s breath hitched as he glanced down at his watch.12:09 AM.
His blood ran cold. The realization hit them like ice spreading through his veins. This was wrong. It was all wrong. The shift had already passed, and yet they were still here, trapped in the same nightmarish dimension they had suffered through for the past year. The weight of it settled in his chest, thick and suffocating, like an unseen force had clenched around his lungs.
