Tyler and Aiden are on the run, haunted by dreams they can't dissect while trying to figure each other out, Aiden having tied a web of lies and Tylers worry for his sister growing like an unstoppable force.
Ben and Ashlyn are also on the run, the group having gone radio silent on them. No matter where they go, danger follows them, causing them to get their hands bloody in more than one way.
On the flipside, they're all being chased by familiar bodies that they have strange connections to while having to adapt to the new set of rules and laws of the Phantom Realm.
The path to New York is more than just bumpy, it's treacherous… and is it even the right way to go?

She ducked slightly, trying to get a handle on the car to no avail— next thing she knew a bullet was whizzing over her head. She ducked down further, her visibility of the road being lost. She was able to look for a split second and was met with the view of cars coming forwards towards them. She heard some engines looped around the vehicle.
Then she heard Aiden speak. “Hang on— I'll get rid of them.” He yelled. She saw movement from the corner of her eye— Aiden standing up in his seat to take his position as gun man back.
Then there was a scream. “Ashlyn they're gaining! Move!” Someone yelled.
Without thinking she shoved down on the accelerator, desperate to get away, however she didn't get far before something rammed into the side of the car.

And like that, he was faced with three options, all of which meant doing something and getting involved into a situation he was never meant to get that deep into:
1) Escape with the scary teenagers.
Freedom, something part of him longed for. ‘Plus somethings up with these kids,’ he thought, eyes lingering on Ashlyn, ‘and… she can hear the infected as well…’
2) Betray Maverick and help Ryan.
Repaying a long owed debt, something part of him felt compelled to do. ‘But will that just result in my capture?’
3) Let Ryan die and help Jasmine.
Possibly the safest option. ‘But even then, will that gain me her loyalty,’ he hesitated, ‘...and will she feel like she has mine?’
