He stops her hand from moving. “Are you sure?” He searches her face for certainty.
She gulps and thinks about her answer. He wonders if she’s thinking about Alfie. “Maybe this isn’t the best idea,” she eventually says.
Colin deflates, casting his eyes away from her and up to the ceiling. “You’re right,” he agrees.
“Unless,” she starts, and he’s snapping his gaze back towards her, watching with bated breath as she blinks her eyes open to stare at him surreptitiously. “Maybe if you put it in and don’t move. If neither of us come, we wouldn’t be fucking, just keeping each other warm.”
Or…
Colin and Penelope are stranded at Aubrey Hall during a snow storm with no electricity or heat. They haven’t seen each other in five years, and despite a complicated history, they have to get creative to stay warm.
