And then, out comes the perfect album to sing to late at night when it's just him, a bottle of topa chico (or cheap tequila), and the kitchen cabinets. Unfortunately for Lance, Hunk is oh so over his impromptu late-night one-man karaoke sessions, and finally decides to put his nose into Lance's and Keith's broken relationship to finally get himself a good nights' sleep once and for all.

“You really didn’t have to do this. I know you’re kind of a germaphobe,” Lance punctuates this with a cough that makes Keith grimace.
“It’s okay! I really don’t mind.”
(Big fat lie. Keith is genuinely terrified of getting sick. He does, in fact, mind. But he’s never been so whipped for a boy in his entire life, so he doesn’t say any of this.)

Who sits in the observatory, a little too close to Keith than necessary, and makes up new constellations.

“First of all, you kissed me. Let’s get that straight. And second, I’m just saying that it could have been worse. Think of it this way–there’s way worse people to kiss. Like, imagine accidentally kissing Zarkon.”
“How would that even happen?” Keith questions, as if this is more than just a hypothetical.
“I dunno, but it’d probably suck. Especially ‘cause he’d def try to kill you after the fact. And probably before…and during. Anyway, my point is, as for people I could kiss, there are way worse people than you.” There’s a wave of silence that immediately follows this, carrying on so long that if it weren’t for Keith’s unsteady breathing, Lance would think that Keith fell asleep. “What? Is that weird to say?”
“Very weird,” Keith responds. Lance starts to fill with so much embarrassment that he wishes the Galra could attack the castle right then, so they wouldn’t have to continue the conversation. But then Keith clears his throat, suddenly reaching a hand in Lance’s general direction but landing on Lance’s pillow. “But I guess…as far as people I could kiss, you aren’t the worst.”Series

Lance averted his eyes, and his voice was suddenly quiet. It wasn’t like Keith hadn’t hugged Lance before – it just had never been a deliberate choice, but more something that happened out of instinct.
Like when they’ve won a battle against an especially tough Galra fleet, and they flung into each other’s arms in the heat of the moment. Or when one of them fell out of a healing pod, disoriented and sleep-induced, and the other one was already there to catch him.
Never like this – an offer, sounding almost like a question, as if Keith could turn him down with nothing more than a scoff. But Keith was a weak man, and he knew he’d regret it later, when there would be the phantom weight of Lance’s body against his own, the lingering smell of his shampoo in his nose, and the knowledge of how the blue paladin would feel in his arms.
His heart betrayed his mind.
