“Easy.” Lance spoke softly as he inched his body closer. The wolf weakly squeezed in response, a feeble smile on his lips. “I don't make promises I can't keep.” The black haired creature watched him through half lidded eyes. He was getting tired himself and let his cheek rest on the mattress. “Know that I promise to do everything in my power to take care of you. All right?” He brought his gaze up and hoped he was making eye contact through the wolf's bangs. “You don't have to struggle anymore. You're safe; they're safe. It's okay.”
Maybe it was the fever, because there were no alarm bells. No red flags. Nothing to indicate this human was a threat - something to fear and defend against. The wolf's instincts had been assuaged as he settled into the notion that he was protected and provided for here. In fact, the way he was being consoled made him feel like a pup being cared for by his mother.

Their plans would have worked out perfectly had Shiro not scheduled the pottery painting at the same time as Adam scheduled the visit to the planetarium. When Adam was dressed and ready to leave around the same time that Shiro was, they were both… confused. Neither of them told the other that they needed to be ready by a specific time. Which then led both men to assuming their plans were figured out, despite the fact that this was not true.

Shiro never had a girlfriend on Valentine’s Day before. She found the holiday to be incredibly frustrating, why should there be a big, special day to show someone why you love them? Why not just do that every day of the week? It made no sense. But then she met Addie. Addie was the complete opposite of Shiro in this regard. She absolutely loved Valentine’s Day. Shiro couldn’t help but find the little heart decor that Addie placed around her apartment to be adorable. Addie would find hair clips and cardigans and earrings that somehow looked perfect on her when they would’ve looked silly on anyone else. By the time Valentine’s Day came around, the two girls had been together for just over six months. And Shiro, who never had to go searching for a gift for this occasion before, was floundering.

When he first started dating Adam, Shiro told him that it was a non-negotiable topic. Shiro wants a child. If his partner doesn't, he will find someone else. His soulmate will want a kid of their own too. Luckily for Shiro, Adam enthusiastically agreed to wanting a baby of his own someday.
Since it was so early on in their relationship that they discussed this, it faded away in the back of their minds. Children were a far off thing. If they got married, showed they could be stable (financially and otherwise), and had a nice enough place to stay, then they would adopt. But, until then, the two would focus on each other and their own relationship.
