“Why did you come here?” Aziraphale interrupts. “Why do you keep doing this?” All the saving, he means, all the chasing after Aziraphale he does. It can’t only be that he’s not keen to endure a replacement. That can’t be it, not anymore. He’s going to get himself in trouble, and then it’ll be Aziraphale’s fault.
Crowley’s mouth shuts with a click. He shifts uncomfortably in his seat, reaches for the handle of the fork and taps his fingertips against it before setting his hands in his lap.
When he speaks, it’s very soft. “Don’t you know?” he asks.
Aziraphale, unnaccustomed to his heart refusing to translate why it throbs with such haste, shakes his head.

Soap glares at him, heart pounding. He leans in, dangerously close. Ghost throws his cigarette to the ground; his tongue darts out and swipes over his lips. Soap follows the motion with his eyes, left to right.
“Tell me you don’t want this.” He says.
“I’d be lying if I said that.”
Ghost has a bad habit of getting drunk and calling for Soap to take him home.

“Fancy meetin’ another Brit in Mexico,” Ghost said and swirled the ice cubes around in his glass.
“I’m Scottish,” Soap corrected, though his voice was filled with nothing but amusement. Ghost met his eyes, and Soap saw the urge he had to revert back to tactical language like they always did. It was safe and normal, while this… “What’re ya drinkin’?” Soap asked to redirect the conversation. He wanted to keep the game going for a wee bit longer.
Ghost glanced down at his glass, as if he needed to remind himself. “Bourbon.”
Soap wanted to laugh. He wanted to punch Ghost’s shoulder and say I love Kentucky in response – mock him. Flirt with him. “My lieutenant loves bourbon,” he said instead, and it was close enough.
or, Soap is drowning his sorrows at a bar when he hears Ghost's voice. When he finds him, he's maskless, bold, and pretending he doesn't know who Soap is. Soap exploits it to the max.

Simon longs to be with Johnny, to feel his skin underneath his own, reach into that stupid-looking mohawk and tug until the strands stuck to his fingertips.
Simon wants to press his hands into John's ribs and tear him apart. He craves to feel Johnny's breath mix with his own as they gasp into each other, Simon wants to feel Johnny, he wants to see him and destroy him. He wants to see John bleed under his fingers and beg for more.

Edith says over the phone line. Her voice is gentle, soft. It's the same tone she uses with Elsie. He can still see that younger version of them. John pressed against her chest, rosary in hand. She would take it in her hands. That small string of beads and crosses. They were always in it, together.So why is he so alone now?
Ghost is taken for holiday break with Soap to Scotland. He meets his family, nephew, sister, it is all alright for the short moment.

Shaking, Ghost lifted both hands and gestured downwards to sign the most simplistic form of begging he’d ever willingly given.
“Stay?”
Soap regarded him carefully, and Ghost knew that he was read like an open book now. With no mask to hide behind his face was marred by whatever fleeting emotion passed through his head and heart in tandem. He could hide nothing like this, and it was terrifying. He slept soundly with his mask for this very reason, and Soap just watched all the while.
He was deciding if it was worth it.
The olive branch held across the ravine that divided their lives- the opening he’d been asked to give. A promise to try.
“Can I hold you?” was a hushed challenge to test the newfound boundaries between them as Soap’s hand hovered near the door.
. . .
The aftermath and recovery of torture as Soap fished out one [1] resident stupid from the river like a half-drowned cat.
Ghost is a broken man. Soap might bloody his hands on the jagged pieces, but he puts Simon back together again at the end of the day.Series
