They should have turned back after the Demon Brothers ambushed them. They should have run when Kakashi told them to, when Momochi Zabuza stepped out of the mist. But they didn't, and now Team 7 was injured, tired, and alone, Kakashi-sensei so badly wounded they weren't sure he'd live through the night.
Meanwhile, Senju Tobirama thought he understood time-space seals enough to experiment with them on his own. Waking up disoriented in an unfamiliar cave, more injured than he'd been since the founding of Konoha obviously proved him wrong. Touka and Mito would have never let him hear the end of it--if Tobirama hadn't managed to transport himself 70 years into the future, that is.

Okay, this was getting more out of hand than he thought—more targeted, to be exact. From the last thing he could remember, it was Vox who had caused this whole issue of siphoning the powers beyond his understanding, and how could it be anything else than that? Surely Michael wasn't trying to insinuate his wife or daughter wanted to punch forward a war by using sinner proxies? Because if he was, Lucifer honestly didn't know what he'd do. A welling of anger tells him whatever it may be won't be worded nicely or cleanly, but he's also at a loss.
The fallen angel prodded him on that, but kept it less personal then he was taking it for his own sanity. ‘You’ve got a script or something up there, Michael? This is starting to sound a bit personal.’
‘Why did the weapon go off before it should have?’
The world narrows itself into a pinprick of time and space.
‘It didn't.’
If Vox wanted to blow up the entirety of Pentagram City, he got the attention of all in creation with his stunt, and won. Lucifer, dragged from his reality and time, refuses to take the blame for this. Something else happened. He didn't kill anyone! He'll find out the truth! He just... overshot the landing.
