“Still,” Buck says, because despite him literally standing on Eddie’s porch at nine in the morning because he left Eddie a horny drunk voicemail, he’s somehow decided that right now he’s the one who gets to tease. “I’ll have to make you last a little longer, huh.”

Pushing himself into a sitting position, Buck took in his surroundings. The water was still rushing around them, though the firetruck was keeping them safely out of the path. Sitting in front of him was tall, dark, and handsome, Buck trying, yet failing not to stare. The worst part? The guy was wearing the navy blue LAFD uniform, the one that matched Bucks…well, it would if he was still a firefighter.
“Do you know where you are?”
Right, firefighter guy was asking him questions, the routine ones that Buck knew all too well.
“Buck. Evan Buckley of the 118. And uh, I’m fine.” Buck gestured to the air around him, sighing aloud, as he gave the guy a smug wink. “Just a little wet is all.”-or-

Summary
“Want to know?” Diaz whispers, eyes darting around as if he’s prepared to share the world’s most delicate secret. Buck nods in affirmation. “Really want to know?” He leans in until his face is pressed up against the bars, something hammering fierce and desperate just beyond his rib cage. He wraps one hand around the bars between them, the heat of Diaz’s hand enough to send shivers up his spine. He licks his lips.
“Yes.” A momentary pause as they breathe the same shared air, and then the space between them disappears as Diaz surges forward, pressing his surprisingly soft lips to Buck’s and taking hungrily, barely allowing Buck even a moment to give as he jerked in surprise.
“Then get me the hell out of here!” The guards rip the man backwards, beating at him with clubs as they pull him back through the doorway he had appeared. Buck presses his fingers to his lips, still entirely stunned as Bobby barks through a conversation behind him. This, he knows, is when Bobby and he are supposed to cause a fuss, an uproar of sorts, in order for the rest of the team to extract Diaz from the prison.

He began to drift off, eyes drooping down farther and staying closed for longer each time. He was almost asleep when he started to hear a noise, a voice saying something to faint for him to decipher. But, slowly, the voice got louder, more defined, words coming through clearer to his ears.
“Wake up. It is time. Wake up.”
He turned, his body trying to move up and forward toward the voice while his eyes stayed closed..
“Wake up. You are safe, it is time. Wake up.”
He turned again. The wolf beside him began to whine, butting its head into his hip. His eyes were moving quickly under his lids. He was straining to get up, to see something and move. He can’t.
He’s on the verge of giving up despite the urgent yelling of the voice and the wet nose pressing into his hip when he hears a different voice, stronger and more powerful than the one before.
“Szczęsny. Wake up.”
And he did.

What if no one in the world knew who you were?
Bucky Barnes is a damn fine soldier, and so is everyone on his SpecOps team. They’re one of the most elite teams assembled, off the books and on the down low. A ghost team like Seal Team 6, without the drama. Their mission? Eradicate insurgent groups of Nazi leftovers recuperating in the Middle East. It’s not exactly what Bucky thought he was signing up for, but it strokes his ego, so he’s fine with it. He’s even mostly fine with leaving his very new boyfriend at home to do whatever it is that Steve does.
While left at home, Steve has his own missions, off the books and on the down low. An experimental team that the rest of the government cannot know about. So when he and his team are given location and extraction orders, he’s a little surprised to be paired with a second team. Hopefully he can knock this out before Bucky gets sent back home. The only question he’s left with is how the hell he’s supposed to find a ghost.
And how the hell is Bucky supposed to remember who he is when he’s spent six months in the desert being nobody?
