Curses and Blessings wanted to live so badly. Desperately. There are few things the Universe wouldn't do to keep them functioning and active.
The issue, of course, was that there weren't many practical ways to force Blessed Ones into anything. Most places didn't have the resources to attract the few Blessed Ones who wouldn't have their applications deleted every time they tried to apply for any job that put them in harm's way.
Cursed Ones? The Universe didn't bother to remove those from the line of fire. They were already there anyway. The question, of course, was the rest of the team. Non-Cursed employees who worked with Cursed individuals were 34% more likely to get injured than those on entirely Curse-free teams.
That's how Firehouse 118, also known as the Curse Division, was born. An entire team made up of people who couldn't die unless it was inevitable, perfect for dealing with the worst things that could happen in Los Angeles.- Words:

A questão, é claro, era que não existem muitas formas práticas de forçar Abençoados a enfrentarem perigos. A maioria dos lugares não tinha os recursos necessários para atrair os poucos Abençoados que não teriam suas inscrições deletadas toda vez que tentassem se candidatar a qualquer emprego que os colocasse em perigo.
Amaldiçoados? Esses o Universo não fazia questão de tirar da linha de fogo. Eles já estavam lá de qualquer forma. A questão, é claro, ficava com o resto da equipe. Funcionários não-Amaldiçoados que trabalhavam com Amaldiçoados tendiam a se machucar 34% mais do que aqueles em equipes inteiramente livres de Maldições.
Foi assim que nasceu o quartel 118, também conhecido como Divisão de Maldições. Uma equipe inteira formada apenas de pessoas que não poderiam morrer a menos que seja inevitável, perfeitas para lidar com as piores coisas que poderiam acontecer em Los Angeles.

As the power flickered out in Keigo's flat for the third time in as many months, he had to come to the disheartening conclusion that vigilanteism simply didn't cover the bills.
Low on money, Keigo tries out selling scented items online to make ends meet, and ends up with a decent side hustle and a few regular customers. One of whom, BlueFlame, is particularly helpful when it comes to Keigo navigating this new area and becomes, dare he say, a friend even. Very helpful when Keigo needs to vent about his crush on the scarred man his new delivery gig keeps sending him to the door of.
