Renaud’s is no Comédie-Française but one must start from somewhere and coming from Auvergne, their spartan attic room felt more like home than one might realise.
Lestat feels like it is all a dream, ingénue and bright-eyed, he is eager to do good on the stage. Nicolas, on the other hand, is loath to be in Paris again.

“What do you want, Louis?” Lestat cuts in, narrowing his eyes salaciously. “Do you want me to beg for it?”
Louis’s lawyer opens his mouth, but Louis cuts him off, looking straight at Lestat.
“I have a string of new businesses,” Louis says, shrugging one shoulder, like all of this is casual. “Appealing to a specific type of clientele.”
Lestat’s top lip curls. “You want me to promote your clubs.”
“I do.”
He sighs. “I can make an Instagram tweet.”

Lestat has refused to speak to Louis since the book came out. Suddenly, in the middle of his rock tour, his account with Roget is drained. Louis has an interesting way for Lestat to get his money back.

However, the universe has a different plan for her, as she finds herself in the middle of a car crash, forcing her parents to fly in and meet for the first time in a while.

Lestat was camp. Daniel already knew this from what Louis had said, but he thought it was more ‘*European, leather-clad fuckboy*’, which — as a trope — has always had hints of homoeroticism, and less ‘*Bipolar, hypersexual, psychedelic-freakout*’.
Lestat’s hunting ground changed from the sultry streets of New Orleans, where he would feed on beautiful young bulls and dashing dames, to the never-sleeping Malibu boulevards and gentlemen’s clubs that line the Sunset Strip, feeding on twinks, butches, bears (etcetera) with blood full of the hard shit.
And, Lestat asked Daniel to meet him at one of those aforementioned “gentlemen’s clubs” tonight.

The sex in general, how rushed and performative it may or may not have been aside, was another issue entirely. His lover had always known, from the very beginning of their companionship, that Lestat did not enjoy bottoming. Sure, Louis had never been aware of the reasoning behind Lestat’s distain, but he still knew that fact, plain and simple. Very rarely in the thirty years they had previously been together did he bottom for Louis; it was a gesture of great vulnerability saved only for special occasions in which Lestat desired to give himself over completely to his husband.
But since their union three years ago, the pendulum had swung and the status quo shifted. Louis, sometime during his eight decades with the gremlin, had gotten a taste of true dominance in the bedroom, a flavor of lust that he seemed unable to continue craving.
OR: As their purely sexual relationship emerges, Lestat finds it difficult to rectify with the dominant role that Louis now craves to play, when put into the perspective of his traumas of the past.

Lestat lets out a breath he didn’t know he was holding.
“But, I want you to try something for me.”
He looks up to see Nysa rifling through one of the drawers in her desk. She fumbles around for a bit before making a triumphant little sound and whipping out what looks like a pamphlet.
”It’s a support group for sexual assault survivors and I’d like you to attend at least one of their meetings.”

Within the week Lestat—the Lestat, a small part of Daniel can’t help but help but crow—is sitting in Daniel’s apartment, casting his gaze over the clutter of Daniel’s human life with an unimpressed expression.
Daniel decides to seize the bull by the horns. “So, where do you want to start? Top ten grievances about the book?”
With his eyes, Lestat manages to convey that a top one hundred would be insufficient to capture the magnitude of Daniel’s literary sins, but with his mouth he says, “I am not here to pick over what has already been said. If that is how Louis sees things, that is how he sees them.”
Or: The Vampire Lestat tells his life story to newly immortal journalist Daniel Molloy, who has a lot of inconvenient, probing questions about it.

Foolish is a king, and a damn good one if you ask him. As such, he must be a prime example of unwavering strength for his people and his kingdom. His sacrifice for the Red faction was meant to prove that. However, despite his cavalier attitude, it isn't always easy to bounce back from death.
