Summary
In the aftermath of Pharloom's functional collapse, a few remnants of the old kingdom linger. Some more hostile than others.
Hornet learns the hard way that the one responsible for her arrival in Pharloom was not the only one with a distinct interest in her, and that, though she has seen the breadth and depths of this kingdom's cruelty, having witnessed the remnants of that cruelty inflicted on others does not make her more resistant to its attention turning directly upon her.
Fortunately, she isn't alone in Pharloom. Unfortunately, her allies can do very little for her when they have no idea where she is, and being found by one does not necessarily mean being found by all- nor does one ally's presence make her escape complete.

Summary
Freeing the Hollow Knight from a mad god’s clutches is one thing; freeing them from their own self-imposed chains is entirely another. Particularly when they understand their rescue as no rescue at all, but simply another god taking those chains in hand.
Ghost did not request any of that.
Hornet, having spent the past few centuries desperately believing that all her siblings died in their eggshells, has learned the truth just in time to struggle with how to help a sibling who firmly believes that their own existence as a living thing is the most heinous of crimes.
Oro is not remotely pleased at having been pulled from his perfectly fine hut to help, and is most definitely not unusually invested here, thank you. No attachment whatsoever to someone who, despite being half-dead, still tries to make of themself a living shield. None at all.
(He’s also a bad liar.)
Friends and allies can only get you so far when someone’s greatest battle is against their own mind, and many things in this crumbling ruin of a kingdom are inclined to interfere in the matter. Not all that is dead is willing to stay dead, and the past is not content to remain in the past.

Summary
For as many universe-ending disasters as the Avengers have dealt with, they're still not great about understanding that there are gods in their midst. Marc had mostly resigned himself to it until he accepted Cap's offer to join the Secret Avengers.
He's not the only god-adjacent one on the new team, though. And even if she won't admit it, Valkyrie has been looking for a kindred spirit for a very long time.

Summary

The bargain is simple: if Mand'alor the Indomitable can last a year and a day wedded to a monster, Naboo goes free, and his debt to Padmé is erased. But Jaster Mereel isn't anything close to the monster that Atin expected, and the mystery of why he's kept locked up in a lonely house on an uninhabited moon is one Atin might not be able to stay away from if he wants to survive the full year.

Summary
Its condition has gotten worse, so says the princess. She has noted how it is more lethargic, her finding it asleep more often than awake, despite its best efforts to remain alert. Sometimes it will drift off in the midst of her replacing its bandages—its injuries are still not healed, leaking void in time with the beating of its abyss-consumed heart, enough to soak the gauze beneath its bandages partway through the cycle—and she will struggle to get it to awaken. Furthermore, it has a new source of pain, though one it does not understand itself. Some aching sensation amidst its abdomen. Nothing like it recalls having ever experienced, though its memories have been cracked and warped by centuries spent confined in dreams.
Or: To get better, one must first get worse.
