Lionors put the idea in Kay’s head. She probably did so on purpose – the twins, after all, tend to take the long view – but whatever the reason, in retrospect Kay could not help but feel slightly, well, embarrassed. And that wasn’t good. The dogs didn’t help, nor did the fact that the Orkneys would cluster, especially on high days and holidays. But all the same, Kay could wish that things had turned out a little less… public.

Other people had 2 human parents, but of course Sam had to have an uxoricidal demon for a father. Other people didn't have to fear the people they loved would one day turn on them, but apparently it's just Sam's lot in life to be staring down the barrel of a gun, held by the man who'd raised him and loved him till he'd learned the truth of Sam's heritage. Well, he guessed that half-demon, raised hunter, future rulers of Hell just didn't get "normal"
