He was different. So much older now, marked with experiences Shiro couldn’t even begin to imagine.

When Keith looked back at Shiro, he was grinning. He stepped close and wrapped his arms around Keith’s waist, pressing small kisses to the side of his neck. Their entire living room was drastically different from when Keith left that morning.
The coffee table was gone, and so was the tufted rug Shiro made (drunk Shiro nearly always resulted in arts and crafts). A simple carpet replaced it, protecting the floors from the new machine on top. At first glance, it looked like some kind of torture device. But it wasn’t. It was very much the opposite of a torture device.
It was a fucking machine.

Keith could confidently say that he knew his boyfriend better than he knew anyone in the universe. He knew every discomfort and fear, loved every inch of perfect scarred skin.
He knew Shiro’s biggest, worst kept secret.
It wasn’t the arena. It wasn’t the nightmares that plagued him every night, wasn’t his deep seated fear of failure, the fear of making a decision so awful it managed to cause the brutal slaughter of his entire team like a gaggle of innocent ducklings on a motorway. The Paladins weren’t ducklings, closer to a flock of geese with excessively violent tendencies, but it didn't stop Shiro from worrying.
It was the simple fact that Takashi Shirogane was the biggest nerd to leave Earth.

Keith, contrary to popular belief, enjoyed finding facts in silly things; it took three-hundred and sixty-four human licks to get to the middle of a lollipop, one-fifty with Keith’s Galra tongue, and only thirty two well placed licks to have Shiro coming over himself like a schoolboy on his first date.
Some facts were more helpful than others.
This knowledge was why Keith had his face in his forearms, slumped over a desk and vibrating with barely contained Grump.
“Okay, hold on, I’m confused. Why are you moping again?”
The next glare was directed up at Lance, sulky and sullen. “We’re having less sex.”

It was something he couldn’t quite articulate, and the new intensity of this feeling felt like a heavy burden. “Oh, don’t I?” Lance suddenly applied a subtle but firm compression to where their palm laid idly under Keith's hand, resting on his abdomen. They brought their opposite hand to mirror it on Keith's lower back, fastening him to Lance's lap.
“Fuck- !!..Lance- y-you-...” Keith's voice broke, body jerking under Lance's grip, digging his nails into their wrist. He held back a moan behind bitten lips, shooting a deadly glare through his curtain of bangs. “Mmph...” He huffed, scowl dripping with venom but eyes… bathed in heated lust.
Lance smiled their crooked smile and leaned closer to Keith's face, slightly increasing the pressure of their hold. Keith's breath hitched in his lungs as his heartbeat quickened.
“How long you been holding it for?”
“Lance-"
“Tell me, Keith.”
