A small voice is filling The Asset’s head, echoing and reverberating strangely around the skull. The voice does not belong in The Asset’s head. The eyes snap to the girl, who’s avoiding Creepy Asshole Scientist’s gaze by locking her bleary eyes to The Asset's.
‘I’m his greatest creation. He’ll never shoot.' The voice whispers as the girl’s eyes look imploringly into The Asset's. She blinks slowly, then her eyes are rolling back into her head, body slumping against it’s restraints. The Headache is gone.

Summary
What started as a 10-20 chapter outline has become over 200 chapters worth of content, and no one is surprised, haha!
This series starts out with the Asset escaping HYDRA's clutches in 2012 during the Chitauri attack on New York, includes his murder revenge tour against HYDRA across the country, his eventual capture and rehabilitation by the Avengers, and many adventures in therapy and recovery beyond that. Plus, Winterhawk (that's Clint/Bucky) slow burn that lasts hundreds of chapters as they circle each other and fall in love. Observe as villains die brutally on the page and civilians and bystanders occasionally become close friends of the cast and cast members themselves.
There's some HYDRA Trash Party tropes in here that can get pretty dark, but everything should be tagged appropriately per chapter in the end notes. And since it's a revenge tour + recovery journey, most of the HYDRA Trash Party stuff is either referenced only or is firmly in the past. We're moving forward (slowly) not backward, here. ^_^

Steve has no plan. Not because he hadn't tried to make one. He'd tried to make lots of plans. Plan, adapt, plan again, tried to think of every contingency.
And then he'd thrown them away, because there wasn't much point. What could you plan for? He couldn't guess the possible contingencies, the situations, the potentials. And he sure as sure hadn't figured on what's happened now, on coming back to his place and finding Bucky here. He hadn't even hoped for that.
