Summary
“You know,” Gale says once the notes have faded into the air, “if you’re looking for a piano player, I just might be able to help.”
Astarion scoffs from the table without getting up. “I don’t think they need a Mage Hand, Gale.”
Gale turns away from the bar again and points at Astarion, like he’s just said something insightful instead of derisive. “Good call. Very useful for turning the pages.” Then he rolls up his sleeve and summons a Mage Hand in the same fluid, practiced gesture.
Astarion scoffs again. “You’re going to play?”
OR
I decided that Gale can play piano, and Astarion has to deal with all the ways that makes him feel.

That part was easy. Imagining purity, imagining walking into a new life clean, imagining answering the pain of loss with losing even the reason to care. The hard part came with the world outside of his mind and all the rules that had to be followed. He had to survive and to take joy from living. Any long term plans had to be tossed aside to keep the fire burning in the present.
Alternatively; the long and turbulent process of relationships, distance and Astarion getting his undeath un-done. With complications

Summary
On the road at last to Baldur's Gate, finding themselves ambushed by wizards who want to kidnap Astarion and return him to Cazador, Gale does the only thing he can think of in that moment to keep Astarion and the others safe.
He challenges them to a wizard's duel.
Astarion, for his part, has never seen Gale look quite so... dangerous. He likes it.

Summary
Half a year after the Netherbrain is defeated, Gale has a problem that only Astarion can help with. The wizard has miraculously met just the right woman for him, but after decades of purely non-corporeal delights he's rubbish in bed, and desperately needs Astarion's expertise to save his new relationship.
From where Astarion stands, the plan has no downsides: there's no way giving sex lessons to his kind, generous, inventive, and very attractive friend can lead to the vampire catching feelings.
