His new coat, a gift he had purchased as a treat for having to sit quietly through his father’s lecture about only bringing home silver from World Juniors against Canada last month, was delicious and expensive. He leaned in to push back a curl that was escaping its proper home when he felt Svetlana grip his chin and sharply turn his face toward her.
