The whole Watcher team gets vaccinated a week before Ryan's roommates are able to get appointments. In order to keep up with their busy shooting schedule, and to ensure that they are taking every safety precaution possible, Ryan will be staying at Shane's for the week.
This will be the first time they've hung out alone together since before the pandemic, and the first time they won't have to be six feet apart.

Still, after calling and canceling again and again, they finally landed on a time when they could meet up and hopefully catch up. It was going to be a great day. Dick had been anticipating it for over a week now. He was at the door to the bottom floor apartment in the Narrows with a duffel slung over his shoulder and his heart all but running a marathon without him.
What were they supposed to do? Were they supposed to talk? Were they supposed to have… lunch? Were they supposed to screw like bunnies to make up for lost time? Was it presumptuous to even think that was an option? Dick didn’t know where they stood anymore.
The longer he stood in front of the door the more the possibilities in his head became possible disasters.

ASL são criados por lobos ao invés da Dadan, que foi de base pelos lobos durante o inverno mais rigoroso do último século e foi assim que os Alfas adotaram o Ace. Mais tarde a irmã da Alfa encontrou o Sabo de 5 anos sendo perseguido pelos piratas do bluejam na floresta e salvou e adotou ele. Ainda mais tarde o Luffy foi salvo e adotado por outro membro da alcatéia após ter o navio que o levava pra Dawn naufragado.
Makino é amiga dos lobos pq foi salva dos javalis pela Alfa, até aprendeu a interpretar algumas coisas da comunicação entre eles. Shanks conhece os lobos quando precisa correr pra salvar a Makino do bandido da montanha (que no canon pegou o Luffy) que levou ela pra floresta pra fugir.
Depois de muitos anos Garp é contratado pelos nobres junto com um monte de caçadores para matarem toda a vida selvagem da floresta.... os ASL presenciam tudo e são um dos únicos sobreviventes (alguns poucos lobos da alcatéia deles conseguiram fugir, mas eles nunca reencontraram eles na fic, só anos depois de onde a fic acaba), Shanks salva eles com autorização do Alfa e leva eles pro mar após o Garp não só descobrir a identidade deles como ele querer transformá-los em marinheiros.
(btw Garp faz parte de uma família nobre... deserdado porém né, e a irmã dele é a mãe do Sabo)
Por meses a tripulação do Shanks cuida dos ASL, mas infelizmente não dá muito certo pq os mais fracos são uns merdinhas medrosos e tensão que tava no navio ia causar em morte (Shanks ia matar alguém por tentar machucar os meninos), então quando Marco e Thatch aparecem para questionar ele, eles fazem um acordo e os ASL são levados para o barco dos WBP.
Basicamente isso, eles passam a viver com os WBP apesae de não considerarem eles parte da alcatéia deles, mas assim eles foram "forçados" a aprenderem a serem humanos novamente (Marco teve um passado parecido, mas pq ele foi forçado a ser um pet escravo de um tenryuubito e aprendeu a língua das bestas durante anos voando nos céus).
Enfim, no final acaba com o Luffy matando o Teach após ele tentar forçar os ASL a matarem o Thatch e servir ele como cachorros, eles fingiram aceitar só para conseguirem atacá-lo no momento perfeito.
