It was a normal enough night. Nothing was out of the ordinary during patrol and no major rogues had been spotted. Everyone was home and at ease. It was quiet, pleasant and calm.
So no one had given a second thought when Bruce disappeared into the medbay, muttering about getting an aspirin for a headache. That was the first sign.
He was in his Batman suit despite the fact that they had already changed half an hour ago. That was the second sign that they all missed.
Tim should have known something was up. Then maybe, what happened next could have been avoided.

“Like a few murder attempts could end my hero-crush on the Biānfú.” Tim replies. “Really, once I got over them,” A process of years, “I saw them as something to take pride in.” Tim’s lips quirk. “I threatened you so much that you had to take action. A prince, an assassin, and the heir of two dynasties—yet little old me was enough to knock you off your game.”
He has Damian tilt his head back and water is poured over his hair, washing out the shampoo. “Aren’t you glad you didn’t succeed?” He asks. The question is meant to be teasing, but Damian doesn't think he manages the right tone, and instead it is terribly revealing. Honest. Genuine.
“You died anyway.” Damian points out. Timothy shrugs.
“Not by your hand.”
True enough. “I’d have made it cleaner.”
“Sure. So you pushed me off the dinosaur because it would be a cleaner death. Right.”
Despite himself, Damian snorts.

Summary
Bruce Wayne would never call himself a good father. But he does love his kids in his own way. And when they're taken from him, he isn't going to waste the second chance he's been given when he wakes up in a strange new reality where things aren't quite the same. He's a child, for one. And apparently Timothy Drake- billionaire, genius, philanthropist (sound familiar?)- is his father. Things in this universe aren't the same, but Bruce is still determined to make the most of what he's been given. If that means he has to deal with being in the body of a pre-teen with a dad (adopted) who doesn't really know how to navigate the rigors of child rearing to bring his little family back together then so be it.
Bruce quickly finds that though this world has never known Bruce Wayne as Batman, someone has filled the niche that was left there. And Bruce has his suspicions of who that could be. Now Bruce is fighting against the forces of a world that he doesn't belong in to bring his kids home to roost. And he'll have to do it while not garnering the suspicions of his genius foster father or his butler- harder than it sounds. First things first, he needs to find his kids.
Then he can plan.
