Summary
I've been talking to some friends about desi wizard life in Great Britain, and it just got me thinking about desi wizards in the Harry Potter world and had lots of feelings, so I thought I'd write them down! The title "wizardistan" is inspired by the book Londonistan, and also refers to India (Hindustan) and Pakistan. These have been really quickly written, so I apologize for any plot holes and inconsistencies! It's brainstorming more than anything else, really. Hope you enjoy!

The new guy that might or might not be the Brazilian mentioned yesterday hopped up lightly on the side of the cutting machine to look at one of the parts. He turned around, and Levi got his first glimpse of his face. Bronze tan, handsome almost to the point of pretty, he had a little facial hair growth above his lip and on his chin. Not a full mustache and beard; just a couple days' neglect of a razor. The guy glanced up from his task, and his eyes met Levi's across the distance.
He was too far away to tell for sure, but Levi could have sworn those eyes flashed like emeralds. He thought he saw a glint of metal in the guy's earlobes, suggesting they were pierced. For a span of several heartbeats, Levi and the green-eyed newbie just stared at each other.
The sudden noise of his sewing machine rattling was the first thing to startle Levi out of his spell, and that was quickly followed up by jabbing through his finger and lancing up his arm. Levi abruptly took his foot off the operation pedal to stop the machine, compressed his lips and looked down at his hand.
"Uh, Levi?"
"Yeah."
"Did you just sew your finger?"
"...Yeah."

This is Jada Versailles, aka Cheshire. Originally based on Cheshire in DC Comics, but evolved into her own thing.
Jada grows up between Brazil and Japan. In Brazil, she's overly sexualized and often feels exploited. In Japan, she has to pretend she's subservient to men and not at all sexual. Her uncle teaches her about thieving over the years. She goes to a fancy boarding school in Gotham City and then on to an elite art school. When her father dies, she drops out and opens an art gallery and also starts pursuing art illegally as Cheshire. Has a few encounters with Batman. After a few close calls, Jada decides to update her martial arts skills and goes to a retreat in Europe. Her martial arts instructor is a Romanian named Ayano Ilanescu.
He is charming, then possessive, then controlling... will she find herself being slowly boiled alive in a pot of hot water?
Works examine consensual kink vs nonconsensual.

And then, he had his badge in hand, gripping it tightly, feeling the cool metal against his palm, the blades of the edges, the outer rim, the jewel in the center. He dropped it, placing it in the hands of someone foreign. The face, body, and suit were all recognizable and similar to his, but now, seemed like they belonged to a different beast.
He admires her. She abhors lawyers. Somehow they make the worst legal team, and at the same time, the best legal team.
