Ilya does mind. Hearing it said back to him, almost makes him flinch, a sudden and brittle sound right next to his ear that he fails to recoil from in time. But he swallows back the bitter truth and replies, “Of course not. If that is what you want.”
He waits, sitting on his living room couch, phone pressed painfully against his ear, his other hand gripping his knees till his knuckles blanched. He could feel his own heart rattling behind his ribs, pulse rockingloudly. His mind was an echo of alarm, demanding of him: Why isn't Shane saying anything?
It was the loudest silence he’s ever lived through, until Shane finally said, “Okay.”

Shane’s fingertips are feather-soft on his chest. “You have to.”
He has to, because Shane and Ilya have this thing, now, this agreement. Nothing is too hard to talk about. Nothing is off limits. They have to be bare, have to surrender the deepest crevice of their soul to one another. And Ilya, for whom this is easier said than done, whose chest carries a perpetual weight, an immovable mass, it’s all worth it – worth the relief smoothing over Shane’s features, the reassurance that he’s not worried anymore, that Ilya can give him this peace, albeit only a fragment of what Shane gives him by just being there when he wakes up. He would never say it, but he thinks that what he has to offer to Shane amounts to nothing – nothing compared to what Shane does, what Shane is, by simply nuzzling into his chest and sighing into his sleep, late at night when all Ilya can do is lay awake and just feel.
“I need more,” Ilya says. “And is nothing you can do. I need you inside me, and it feels terrible.” He swallows, with great difficulty. God. “I need to– I need to eat you.”

Chan didn't think he had been obvious enough for anyone to notice, had hoped he would be able to work through this himself without having to trouble Minho and Hyunjin with it. “It's nothing,” he says. “I'm fine.”
Minho narrows his eyes. “Don't do that,” he says. There's no real malice in his tone, just stern admonishment. “We promised each other we would talk about everything, especially after Paris.” Chan sighs. He's aware. They'd agreed not to keep anything to themselves if they were dealing with heavy emotions, and this definitely falls into that category, but at the same time he just feels so stupid and silly and embarrassed. Minho is still quietly watching him, waiting for him to spill, and Chan knows he owes him an explanation.
“It's just... something Jisung said,” he finally says.
“What did he say? I'll make sure he can never speak again.”
Chan can't help but chuckle at that. Minho is always able to say vaguely threatening things with the most deadpan expression. It's a true talent. “Just...” Chan sighs again. “Something about you and Hyunjinnie being out of my league.”
