Sparky and Davey's families finally begin their new life in Jasper, Nevada, encountering new faces (as well as old ones, to Spike Witwicky's dismay). The young Autobots soon reunite with the other crew of the Ark hidden in an abandoned silo.
However, the neutral Mirage, influenced by the Decepticon assassin Deadlock, has decided to help the Autobots' imprisoned adversaries make a jailbreak.
Meanwhile, Hot Rod, deciding to rescue the remaining crew of the Ark trapped in their own ship and hiding from MECH while unaware of the jailbreak, is taken into his itinerary with Ironhide and Hound. The three Autobots eventually meet Bluestreak, who directed them to the stranded and disillusioned crew of the Ark, but with the encouragement of the fiery speedster, they fought back for the Ark, but their victory was shortlived after Hot Rod's outlier powers had Bumblebee damaged.

Jazz had never expected for one of his cousins and bonded to pass away one cold evening, leaving behind a pair of splitspark twins. He knew of them, had met them once or twice, but when the rest of his family began to pass them over and over again, he knew he need to step in.
The only problem is that his work is only willing to wait for so long. He needs to go back. He works weird hours.
He needs a babysitter.
Prowl hated that running was the only option he had. He needed to get away, but with his certifications to become an enforcers around the corner, he thought he could hold on. When push comes to shove, he knows he needs to start over. He has no credentials, his Academy credits won't transfer, and his skillset is incredibly limited.
He needs a job.

Orion Pax had been hurrying out of the Archive and back to his dock for his shift when an ancient artifact, propulsed by the explosion of Sentinel Prime (with a little too much speed to be completely believable, but then again, the Matrix of Leadership was known to do strange things to fundamental physics on occasion), sailed it's way from the Primal Palace Entrance and directly into his chestplates.
Primus, it seemed, had seen a chance to get a new, better Prime to serve his children in the explosive assassination of his unchosen Prime. There was Civil War to avert, and nothing short of the most optimal Prime would do.
The Matrix was a mysterious artifact for a reason. It also never was as powerful as when the very fate of Cybertron hung in the balance. Poised on the edge of the destruction of Cybertronian Civilisation, as it was then, as it had been back during the Quintesson Invasion, the Vessel of Primus could do miracles.

"The first time Rodimus died, he was transported a mere 10 hours into the past. He knew about Unicron ahead of time. He had enough time to warn everyone about how the fight would go, enough time to draw up new battleplans over the course of a couple days, but not enough to realize that Unicron had held onto the same memories that he did until it was too late. Rodimus died again, his crew screaming as their shuttle was ripped open by Unicrons’ lasers, disintegrating where they stood."
Rodimus Prime failed often, usually at the cost of lives be they other peoples' or his own. The matrix revived him every time he did, putting him back into the past before his death. Each time he died, the amount of time he was sent backwards got extended, until eventually Rodimus is returned to his pre-prime body. Now Hot Rod again (and extremely jaded), he'll do everything in his power to stop himself from being put in a position to fail time and time again. Hot Rod will save his team, save his leader, save his family, if it's the last thing he does.
