Well, DAMN. This story was SURPRISINGLY intense, really packed a wallop for only 10k. It probably has the most gorgeous and comprehensively creative description of the magic created by a perfect hoard that I've ever come across. Also, it's both funny and poingant. Just. Read it.

“Dude, what is up with you?” Scott leans in close enough that he can probably smell Stiles’ pores. “You’ve been staring off into space and laughing for like five minutes.”“Oh? Uh. I’m fine,” Stiles says. “Totally fine, man. Just great. I’m having a really good day?”
Scott has that adorable little crinkle between his eyes that means he’s trying to think. Stiles wants to push on it until it’s smooth again, wants to wrap Scott and the rest of the pack up in matching footie pajamas and just hug them for hours. The magic has been uncomfortable and strained the entire day and is now nearly overwhelming. It throbs in time to Stiles’ heartbeat and leaks out of his nose and mouth in curling spirals.
“I just really love you guys?” Stiles is still talking, apparently. “Just. Scott. You are the best. Your hair is perfect and I want to touch it all the time. And Erica is just really pretty and good at so many things and you guys make--” Stiles tries to figure out how to express the unique color and shape of the magic that fizzes when Scott and Erica touch, “--sparkles.”
Stiles tries to demonstrate the magical love sparkles with his hands but only manages to knock over his chocolate milk and whack Erica in the boob. He watches the milk slowly drip over the edge of the table and does nothing. Stupid floor milk. That’s what it gets for being in his way.
“Are you high?” Jackson asks.

Merlin is a dragon, living in the kingdom of Camelot where Uther’s fear of magic had led to a total ban on any and all kinds of shifters, forcing them either to flee or go into hiding. He tries his best to stay hidden but he can’t resist taking small, shiny trinkets that catches his eye. Most of them are never of any greater value or even thrown away by their previous owners but he cannot keep himself from hoarding it anyway. He also cannot, unfortunately, keep away from Arthur’s things and that’s where the trouble starts...

Over the past six years, Zuko has perfected the art of playing the cool, collected Fire Lord, the opposite of his hotheaded father in every way. He’s cultivated the even gaze, the regal tone, the way he can make Sokka feel like he doesn’t even recognize him, when Sokka knows he is just as desperate to get him alone so they can get their hands on each other. But inevitably, Zuko will slip and look at him, and his eyes will be the eyes of Zuko, the man Sokka loves, instead of Zuko the Fire Lord. Sokka just has to be vigilant enough to catch it.

Sokka returns from a six-month-long diplomatic mission and Zuko is too worked up to look him in the eye during the public ceremony. Misunderstandings ensue.
