Eijirou was exactly where Katsuki had left him, hardened where he huddled beneath a mountain of soft blankets on the couch. He didn’t seem to notice Katsuki’s approach until he was within touching distance, quirked flesh jolting in an attempt to shrug off the haze. There was something lingering there behind his eyes. Katsuki couldn't quite put his finger on it. There was recognition, but it was swathed beneath layers and layers of unsettling emptiness. The sort of protective blankness that one could sink into and bury themself in, burrow beneath and hide away from the world.
Katsuki didn't want that.
He didn't want Eijirou hiding. Not from him.
There was only one solution, then. Carefully chip into that shell and expose the hurt beneath.

With all the little chirps and coos and trills coming out of her, it’s almost like she’s purring — and, well, as she leans in and feels a low rumbling in his chest, it seems he’s definitely purring.
It’s enough for her to just… let go for a second. Let the stress melt away, and… let the fuzziness take over.
It’s like she’s melting, a little. Her head goes all hazy. Jaiden has to remind herself to breathe, the fog making it hard to think about anything.

Echoes of Light, you made me so, so harrowed. The start made me ecstatic and joyous, the midway part left me distressed and apprehensive, and the most recent chapter has me wondering. I'm left to stare at you in a bitter sense of awe and a horrifyingly present adoration, I love this story though it has caused me so much emotional turmoil. Turmoil, that in my mind I described was enough to fill two mountains and the moon.
