Nights like this, where his eyes would fall shut. His body clock had adjusted to being across the sea, for whatever reason. His lungs would be full of the smell of rain, and he would stand in the cold downpour at 5 AM. With his eyelashes grazing his cheeks, and his breaths shaky yet steady. Sapnap would call him back inside, but he’d hold up a finger, and let the cold water seep beneath his shirt, just to feel the pricking needles. Just to feel what it was like to be reminded of his mortality.
