The shivering figure in the cell corner had stopped screaming now that Natasha had stopped speaking to him, and instead was just shuffling himself helplessly into his corner. Shudders raced randomly over his body like electric shocks, making his half-twisted spine twitch under his skin.
“What did he say?” Tony asked.
Natasha closed her eyes. “Numbers. He was repeating numbers.”
“What numbers?”
“Three two five five seven zero three eight.”
“Which means?”
She opened her eyes, the green flashing.
“What numbers would any prisoner be chanting? It’s a serial number, dumbass.”
Tony already had Jarvis running the numbers through a military database, and before she had finished speaking, Jarvis had fed a name to him.
Tony slipped his helmet down to stare blankly at Nat.
“...It can’t really be him,” he said, as if hoping she’d agree and have a different, reasonable explanation. “He shouldn’t have survived that long.”
“I know.”
“He CAN’T have survived that long.”
“Steve did,” she said softly.

Steve nods and steps back again, but it’s reluctant. “His vitals, power input and output, temp readings, everything looks stable, really Cap, he’s as fine as we could expect him to be. Give Jarvis time to find what we need to find in amongst-” Tony gestures expansively. There are files everywhere, not to mention the Terabytes of digital data that Jarvis lifted from the site.
Tony’s work shop is a mess, but Steve’s eyes are drawn again to the metal tube, standing in the corner.

Bucky looks around his room one last time. He has nothing to pack. Nothing he’s had during his stay has belonged to him, apart from the letter of pardon and the Silver Star he was awarded for gallantry in action against an enemy of the United States.
Bucky’s pretty sure it was because he fell off a train when he was doing his best to help Steve out, but he didn’t argue. He just took the blue velvet box, and then the next time he saw Steve he handed it over without ever having opened it.

Originally prompted here.Prompt: I'd love a fic where Bucky was used sexually as stress relief for all of Hydra's soldiers. Naturally, this fucked him up pretty bad. When Steve brings him in, he expects to serve the same function with the Avengers and their allies. He doesn't try to seduce them, he's just constantly expecting to be told to get on his knees. He doesn't understand what the payment for the food and bed etc will be, and he's confused his new owners are so different.
Important: none of the good guys would even consider using him with any consent issues.
