Chapter Text
Weak.
They were all weak. All his demons.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CANNOT KILL THE LAST HUNTER AND TAKE THE CUB?" Gwi-Ma roared.
The dokkaebi infront of the stairs trembled. "W-We couldn't! We tried every solution we could to get her away from the half-breed, and every time we make a tear even so stealthily, she knew where it was!" It stammered.
"Sh-she can copy us, Gwi-Ma sir." A nearby water demon added, flinching once everyone looked at him. "She can copy demon features and uses it to her advantage.."
His flames flared up. "And that's it? That's the reason why you can't defeat a lone hunter!? Her songs aren't even three part harmonies!"
"She sings songs that are solo!" Another demon screeched. "Her songs are just her, no extra voices! We would've consumed her soul if it wasn't for the fact the Honmoon heals her!"
"W-We tried to rip off her arm and it just FUCKING STITCHED BACK TOGETHER AS SHE SANG—" That's odd, the Honmoon never did that before, as Gwi-Ma remembered.
"I burnt her leg when I ripped it off..." one whispered, quiet, yet loud with a strange fear that Gwi-Ma couldn't guess why. "Th... the Honmoon..." the demons around it quieted down.
"A new one formed?" Gwi-Ma scoffed. "Then overwhelm her with quantity!"
"No offense, but that's exactly what we did with three faceless hordes, sir— GHK—" Gwi-Ma levitated the demon towards his flames, a scowl forming.
"That's what you all did?" He asked. "Then let me see how you do it."
It was raining. It was raining and she had to fucking change her body to move faster.
Fuck me with a chainsaw, what demon is good in the rain? Celine thought as she ran on the rooftops, her sickles in her hands.
The tear was bigger than usual, way bigger.
She transformed her limbs, feeling it change as she ran faster, feeling the heat. If she had her original references, she'd say that the tear looked like one of those Manhwa gates she used to read about dungeons, but not the portal kind.
Damn.. it hadn't even been created yet. No, wait, maybe it did but it's a novel?
She blinked. Wait, it was originally in Korean, I can read it earlier now. I should learn Japanese too.. maybe more languages with my new ability. She thought as she landed on the a railing.
The rain was heavier than usual, she could barely hear herself.
She hissed as she landed on the ground.
A large demon's claw came through the tear before more came out, with the first one lunging out of the tear, slowly getting up from it's position.
Okay, new tactic. Current favorite song.
She didn't let it roar before she threw a sickle directly at it's neck, her mouth opening to sing, a glint in her eyes.
The demons kept coming.
Good. He thought as more dokkaebi went through as the Honmoon screamed. If the faceless or water demons couldn't stop the hunter, maybe these hordes finally will.
He hadn't used his human form for a long time, he has no idea if it was even up to the current beauty standards, considering the cape he has. But he needs to see if he could charm humans.. perhaps even the hunter, like what happened to Mi-Yeong.
Such a shame he had to kill the demon father, though. He could've controlled him.
Groups of dokkaebi begun to enter the tear as the Honmoon tried its best to seal it shut. He grabbed a thread beside the tear and pulled, making a way for himself as he went through.
The first thing that greeted him was an empty dusty storage place, and his demons attacking one place that kept surging up blue bursts or even white starlight.
The second thing he was greeted with was an immediate explosion of starlight.
BOOM—!
"What!?" He hissed out, blinking away the dust from his eyes as demons all around him either turned into pink dust or screamed.
The Honmoon was screaming towards one single direction just as something tackled a dokkaebi that was infront of him. It hadn't even swung its club yet.
The hunter.
She hit the ground like a comet as she sliced the demon's throat with her sickle.
Blue fire tore outward from her spine, her silhouette dissolving into something that barely resembled a human shape anymore.
Her body burned.
The hunter looked completely manic as she growled out a song. She tore through the demons like it was just straw dummies she had made for her blades.
She copied them as she fought. His minions weren't joking.
Horns curled from her skull, then shattered and reformed as it was pulled and rammed and torn. A demon’s speed became hers. Another’s regeneration layered over her own.
"'Til I'm bloody and bruised!" She sang as she copied a demon's scales. "'Til i've broken my bones!" A demon turned into dust as she rammed her new horns into its heart— holy fuck those were sharper than the others.
Gwi-Ma stared at the walking blue inferno infront of him for a long moment, his eyes wide in surprise as he choked.
By the realms, this is a demon hunter? He thought as he lunged at her, ready to claw her face off as the demon ki—
The Honmoon screamed. Celine whipped her head towards his direction, smoke coming out of her almost non-existent mouth.
She grinned.
He barely blocked the first blow.
He dashed to the side as she sliced her sickle downwards to where his head was going to be halve. She laughed— a sharp, breathless, insane noise as she twirled her weapons and went for a nearby faceless, right before a demon pulled her off and threw her back after killing it.
There were dust of starlight left and right as she killed them.
A hunter— the Demon Hunter, the one that he helped make, tearing her family to shreds and created this bloody, dusty mess.
“Oh,” he breathed, eyes shining, flames licking higher along his form. “There you are.”
He got bodied into the demon realm by Celine throwing a decapitated dokkaebi.
