Work Text:
It happened again. Robby adopted another doctor. Trinity Santos. It turns out she and Whittaker live together and both knew the other regresses. Trinity was sort of his unofficial big sister, occasionally taking care of him when he was little.
After one particularly difficult shift, the two went home together like usual. Dennis got changed in his bedroom, then went to the kitchen, prepared to argue about dinner like every night, but...Trinity wasn’t there. And he heard crying! Following the sound, Dennis found her still in her room.
After half an hour of failing to comfort her, Dennis called Dr. Robby. He couldn’t handle this! His big sister was crying! He’s only 3, what was he supposed to do!
Robby showed up (sooner than he probably should have if he obeyed traffic laws) and was able to calm Trinity down. He decided it would be best to take both ‘kids’ home with him.
Lo and behold, Robby now had three children. Three children that were currently arguing over the TV.
“Bluey!” Was Dennis’s choice.
“Paw Patrol!” Frank insisted.
Trinity however, said, “I don’t want to watch those stupid baby shows!” This of course set Frank off, whining that he’s not a baby.
“Enough, all of you!” Robby scolded. “There’s not going to be any TV at all if you can’t agree on a show! You have toys to play with. Now, Trinity, apologize for calling Frank a baby. We’ve talked about this; you know he doesn’t like it.”
Trinity sighed, looking at Frank who was pouting with his arms crossed.
“Sorry, Frankie, you’re not a baby. Maybe...we can watch Encanto?” She knew Frank liked that movie and she did too. Dennis just liked music.
“Yeah!” Dennis cheered, grabbing his stuffed cow and hugging it tight.
Frank nodded at that. “I forgive you,” he said quietly.
Robby smiled as he turned on Disney+.
He never thought anything could be as fulfilling to him as being a doctor, but he loved being a caregiver to these three kids. Even when they were being brats.
