Ilya froze before looking at him with big eyes.
“You think they would let me?”
Shane had to laugh a little.
“Honestly, they would be stupid not to. You’re obviously one of the best players in Canada right now, with you we might even have a chance at gold!”
Ilya didn’t seem fully convinced yet, his hands nervously picking at his hoodie.
“But they do not need to let me play. They could say no.”
Shane put his hands on Ilya’s shoulders.
“Look at me.”
Ilya carefully lifted his gaze from his hoodie, surprised by Shane’s tone. He was very serious now.
“Ilya. I would really like to go to the Olympic games with you. I want to win some medals with you. And this is honestly our last chance. I think we should at least try. What do you think?”or: Hollanov are going to the 2026 Olympics!
