Loak was looking at the sea he had been captured by the sky people and he's now tied up on their ship, his dad was coming with the metkayina until they slowed down far from the ship.
"Sully's in, 400 yard" Lyle said to Quaritch while looking over the horizon with the scope of his gun.
Loak felt a rough hand tugged at his neck, ripping his comms off, and then the earpiece, Quaritch started talking to his dad, Loak tried to hear the conversation but Loak can barely hear anything since his mind is clouded and fogging badly.
"You want your kids back, you come out alone" Quaritch says as he lift his hand to show the gun in his grasp as he lowered it towards his youngest son head
"You know better than to test my resolve" Jake's head felt like it was being twisted and torn, and for a moment, he just stared, his son, who clearly hasn't felt the gun behind him, or heard the threat Quaritch was making, his 14 year old son, looking at him with hopeful eyes, with believe that Jake will safe him.
Jake felt hopeless, he knows how this end, Jake will give himself up, or his youngest son will have a bullet thru his head, and Jake sure isnt going to pick the second option, so Jake told Tonowari that he'll give himself up, Tonowari is puzzled, trying to argue, but Jake explains that the sky people only want him. Tonowari nods and he raised his spear back and lowers it, signaling the clan to stay, Jake pressed the comms in his neck again
"Check your fire, im coming out" Jake said to Quaritch, as he began to move forward, ignoring Neytiri's confused question, Jake isnt about to let Neytiri heard Quaritch words speaked from his son comms, she'll lose her mind.
As Jake closes in, Loak heard a mumbled groan from the sea as the ship swift slightly at the waves, and then something emerged from the surface, Payakan. Payakan jumped out of the water onto the deck, crushing everyone beneath him, then the metkayina charged towards the ship, shouting war cries and ululating, and soon Loak's, Tuk's and Tsireya's cuff was cut as they were getting brought deeper into the ship by Quaritch and Lyle, and they cuffed them to a rail again, this time in a place with roof and a pool in ths middle.
And suddenly Loak was pinned back against the rail, and he felt a large boot on the back of his thighs, the boot began pressing in, and the man began putting his weight on him, Loak heard Tsireya begging the man to stop, soft deafening cries and screams of fear, but Loak can barely hear from the pain that seems to silenced everything around him, as he looks over to the side, he saw Tsireya shielding and covering Tuk from the view.
Loak felt an insane amount of pain coming from his legs Loak tried to scream but it just came out as a growl, then he heard a sharp crack, he heard Tsireya screams, and the men finally backs away, Loak turned back from the rail and Loak sees his legs, his thigh have been snapped in half with his bone sticking out from the ripped skin and blood began pooling on the deck, Loak hissed at the pain, he held back tears that begged to come out, then Quaritch started talking.
"You see that boy, that is your femur, once snapped in half will need to be treated intensly if you dont want to be paralyzed, you'll have to wait a long-long time before being able to walk normally again" Quaritch said with a smile at the boy suffering, Loak's heart dropped, if his legs are messed up, he'll never be able to run through the forest, climb trees, feels the moss beneath his skin and he'll never swim at the sea, running and jumping off Payakan ever again.
And Loak didn't know why this was happening to him, not just the fact that one of his dad's enemy just snapped his leg in half, not just the fact that he was kidnapped and held as hostage against his father, why has he been casted, left to rot all his life, even before he moved in with the Metkayina's he has never belonged, its almost like eywa spent so much time on his older siblings that when she finally got to him, he got lazy, he's never doing the right thing, he's too loud, too wrong, too 𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯. And moving to the Metkayina just made all that worse, atleast now he has Payakan and.. Tsireya.
"If i could, i would've messed up your spine, paralyzed you from the waist down, i would die to see the reaction on your dad's face if i did that, but im not an idiot, that would cross the line between making your parents broken and devastated to making them snap me in half, and i sure am not planning on dying today, but if i did, im not gonna die without an impact, i sure will carve a scar on your dad's heart, everytime he looks at his little boy, all he see would be the scar and metals on your legs, he'll see what betraying his own species has done to his poor boy, he'll see what I've done." Quaritch said with a grin on his face, Loak just felt sick.
"you'll never be normal again, not without having metal injected into your blood and having rods fixed to your bone boy, enjoy it. " Loak began tearing up, the adrenaline have died down and now there's just pain everywhere, Tsireya began moving closer and stroking his arm trying to comfort him, Tuk is crying just as hard as he is, behind him, Quaritch started talking again, but this time to the comms he ripped off his neck.
"Sully, i got your youngests and his little girlfriend here, same deal as before, you for them" Jake exhales as he treated his oldest son gun wound, Neteyam has been shot by the men off the ship, thankfully Jake manage to get him to the shore and blocked the blood from spilling out and Neteyam is stable now, and now Quaritch is saying that his other children are on the ship, Jake tried to convince himself that Quaritch was lying, yet the truth sting so much it hurts.
"Where's your sibling? " Jake asked Kiri and Neteyam, hoping that Quaritch was just making dumb threat to scare him, but they just sit in silence for a while until spider spoke up
"They're tied up on the ship.. " Jake's heart dropped, Quaritch wasnt lying, he got his boy and girl, and Jake will not let him win.
"The-Theyre at the moon pool, ill show you come on" Jake followed spider and quickly bonded with an ilu as they approach the sinking ship, Spider had manage to escape the ship by hitting the captain with a fire extinguisher and fought off anyone who got in his way, Jake was proud of that, even tho Spider is technically not his son, he practically raised him, but there's no time for wholesome flashback right now, his childs needs him.
Once he was on the ship, he found Neytiri who clearly also heard what Quaritch has said over the comms, so Jake began moving, no coordination, no plan, just parents rage and adrenaline.
"Im gonna need something Jake or there will be consequences" Quaritch said into the comms
"Yeah i hear you" Jake said, trying to sound strong despite how much he's choking, Jake moves stealthily on the ship, he's closing in on one of Quaritch recoms, then he attacks.
Neytiri and Jake keep fighting the men guarding the ship, dropping them one by one, as the ship empties out, Jake still couldn't found his child cause he had convinced Spider to stay back on the ship so he wouldn't get hurt, until Jake finally found them, yet there's only two of them, Tuk and Tsireya, but no Loak.
"Tuk where's your brother" Jake asked, Tuk and Tsireya are shaking badly, and Jake knows that something must've happened, Tuk quickly pointed in a direction, Jake immediately starts moving until, Jake saw Quaritch walks out from the corner, with a knife to his son neck already bleeding, and then Jake saw his legs, the bone sticking out of the thigh, still bleeding badly, Loak's eyes are red and his cheeks are stained with tears, Jake can only imagine how much pain his son must be in.
"You seeing this Jake?, your boy ain't so tough now huh? " Quaritch snickered and pulling the knife closer to Loak's neck.
"Just kill him dad. " Loak said to Jake.
