The first thing Yoo Joonghyuk was annoyed about was the height. He hated being short, he’s never felt this small since he was a child. Han Sooyoung on the other hand was having the time of her life.
"I can bitch kick so many people now," she grinned, testing out the long legs.
"Sooyoung," Yoo Joonghyuk warned. He had her voice but kept his same tone. "Stop smiling. It looks... wrong."
"You stop scowling like that. You're going to get me wrinkles."
He rolled his- or well Han Sooyoung's- eyes. "How long is this penalty lasting?"
"I closed the window before I checked."
A vein popped in his forehead. "Why?"
"Have some fun in your life Hyukie, let it be a surprise."
She leaned on him like he was a shoulder rest. He wanted to murder her but didn't want to harm his own body.
"Sooyoung," he roughly pushed her off. "You can't act like yourself, not like this."
She groaned. "Why? It's not like you have any reputation left after you cried at Dokja's feet like a lost puppy when he came back to life."
He glared at her and she wanted to remove it before it seriously affected her face.
"Ok ok! Fine I'll act like you..." she straightened her posture and made a neutral expression. "I'm Joonghyuk. I hate fun. I used to be a gamer but I got cancelled," she said in a deep voice.
"...Just don't talk at all."
"You're asking for something impossible."
"It's your fault we got into this mess," he argued, unintentionally standing on his tiptoes to appear taller.
"Fine but if I can't speak then you HAVE to talk all day, otherwise everyone will think I'm depressed again."
"...Deal."
It shouldn't be hard, right?
"Come on master it's like you forgot how to even hold a sword!" Lee Jihye jabbed, both with her tone and her weapon.
The writer grumbled. Why was the sword so damn heavy? Heavier than the pen, you could say. Yoo Joonghyuk walked over to her and guided her on how to hold it right, frustrated on why her grip was so loose.
“Unnie?” Lee Jihye titled her head.
Yoo Joonghyuk looked over and forgot he was Han Sooyoung’s body so the gesture looked odd. What would the woman do in this situation?
He tired his hardest to grin like her and then said, “Ha I got gum on your sword.”
Han Sooyoung looked at him in shock, not from what he said but from the fact he pulled that off really well. Lee Jihye laughed at the antics.
“I can’t believe you managed to prank him like that! You’re so out of it today, master.”
“…Yeah. She got me good,” Han Sooyoung murmured.
“Don’t drop my sword,” he whispered before leaving.
“It gets covered in blood and guts anyway why are you such a clean freak over it?” She hissed.
“There you are Sooyoung~” Yoo Sangah’s sweet voice called out, breaking up the argument.
Han Sooyoung was instinctively about to make her way to her, but Lee Jihye grabbed her, requesting for something about swinging tactics. Yoo Joonghyuk froze when the shorter (well right now she was taller) woman held his hand.
“I haven’t seen you all morning.” She smiled at who she thought was her girlfriend.
He looked over at Han Sooyoung, his face full of panic. The woman glared at him as if saying “if you touch her I will end you.”
He needed to think of something.
Before she could speak, he backed away from her 20 feet. “I’m a bit sick today you shouldn’t get near me…” he said in a raspy voice.
Worry filled the woman’s face. “Oh no! Do you need anything? Water? Medicine?”
“I’ll be fine I just need to rest. Alone.”
“Really? Sooyoung we talked about this, you’re not weak just because you need help, and I know you’ll get bored all on your own.”
Yoo Joonghyuk was a bit surprised. This felt just like a lecture Kim Dokja would give to him over the same issue. He needed to persist, however, so shook his head.
“I’ll just get a checkup from Seolhwa… I’ll be fine.”
“Can I at least walk you?”
He internally sighed and nodded.
Meanwhile, Han Sooyoung finally escaped from the teenager. She immediately tried to look for Yoo Joonghyuk and her girlfriend, prepared to attack him, until something grabbed his shoulders.
“Hey you bastard! Have been avoiding me? You haven’t even responded to my texts.”
Kim Dokja clung onto her arm with a smile.
She felt like she was going to be sick.
She already hated seeing the two flirt in front of everyone, and now she had to experience it first hand?!
“Don’t touch me,” she said instinctively and pulled away.
He rolled his eyes, assuming his boyfriend was just being his usual self. “You literally begged me to kiss you earlier.”
“OH MY GOD SHUT UP!” She did not want to hear the sappy things they got up to alone.
“You’re so adorable when you’re all shy.”
She finally spared him a glance then squinted. “What are you wearing?”
“What? You don’t like it? I spent so much coins on this.”
“Can you wear a black dress instead and grow your hair out?”
Kim Dokja blinked. “You want to see me in a dress? Uhm sure… if that’s what you want?”
Oh this was going to fun. “Actually? You’d wear a dress?”
“For you? Yeah I guess?”
Han Sooyoung hid her smile. She was more of a demon than the demon king himself.
While she was being evil, the other two found Lee Seolhwa.
“…Yoo Sangah can you get me some water?” Yoo Joonghyuk muttered just to get her out of the room.
Yoo Sangah immediately nodded and left with a smile, though she wondered why her girlfriend was using her full name. She wasn’t mad at her, was she? On the other hand, Lee Seolhwa stared at him with a glint in her eye.
“Got a haircut, Joonghyuk?”
He sighed. Of course she could see right through him.
She chuckled. “How did this happen? Penalty?”
“Yes… and thanks to Sooyoung I don’t know for how long. Do you know any cure?”
“Yes.”
“…”
“…”
“You’re not going to give to me, are you?”
“Of course not, this is hilarious.”
He grumbled under his breath. He didn’t know how long he could stay around Yoo Sangah, if felt like cheating-
The thought made his eyes shoot open. Was Han Sooyoung currently with him…
He was going to murder than woman.
“Tell Sangah I threw up and locked myself in my room,” he said quickly and left.
“Wait- I can’t just-!” The doctor sighed.
Yoo Joonghyuk ran as quick as he could, which wasn’t a lot because Han Sooyoung’s stamina was not up to his, and her legs were so short he had to put in more effort. Also her hair slapping his face was really starting to annoy him.
He finally found the two and paused.
Kim Dokja was trying on a white dress. He looked up and met Yoo Joonghyuk’s eyes with a tired frown, much unlike his usual loving look.
“If you make fun of me it’s because you’re jealous,” he argued.
Yoo Joonghyuk blinked. “No you… you look pretty…”
Kim Dokja stared at him like he was crazy. Han Sooyoung sighed at the regressor’s uselessness and smacked his head, trying to remind him what his appearance was.
He cleared his throat. “…pretty ugly.”
Kim Dokja rolled his eyes. “How original.”
“Why bother even wearing a dress when Sangah is leagues ahead of you?” He continued.
Han Sooyoung wanted to yell out an agreement but held it back.
“Why is this a competition?!” Kim Dokja complained. “You know what how about you get into a dress!”
“I’m feeling left out,” Han Sooyoung mumbled.
Kim Dokja was surprised and Yoo Joonghyuk was about to strangle her.
“Oh- if you want to then sure you’d look nice.” Kim Dokja smiled.
The reader began looking through the shop and it took one smirk from the woman for Yoo Joonghyuk to have enough. He reached into the pocket and grabbed out Han Sooyoung’s favourite pen.
She screamed when she saw it being held hostage.
“Don’t you fucking dare!”
She surged at him but still struggled to balance with the new weight so tripped. Yoo Joonghyuk was about to kick her but didn’t want to hurt himself. Han Sooyoung groaned and got up, then she grinned at an idea.
She started slapping herself.
His eye twitched.
“Why are you hitting yourself?” She mocked. “Ow your hands are so rough do you not own any cream?”
“I’m cutting your hair.”
“Go ahead I was planning to anyway!”
Kim Dokja looked at them both thoroughly confused. He focused on the mannerisms then it all clicked to him.
“You asshole!” He yelled at Han Sooyoung who grinned, but then he felt bad because it felt like he yelled at his boyfriend.
He stared at the two, stuck on his choices. He wanted to hold his boyfriend’s hand but… that either meant going to Han Sooyoung which ew, or going to Yoo Joonghyuk in Han Sooyoung’s form and touching her hand which ew.
He made up his mind.
“I’m drinking with Sangah.” With that he left.
The two blinked.
“So have you ever wanted to make out with yourself?”
Yoo Joonghyuk strangled her, not even caring he’d have to deal with the pain later anymore.
