Summary
Paranoid and defensive, Ivy is a teenager trying his best to survive in a world where he perceives everything and everyone as a threat - even the only person whose affection for him is genuine. An evergrowing threat of nocturnal creatures murdering innocents catches the attention of the few who chose to accept him into their rebellious group, going as far as to promise themselves the head of one. Once their plan goes awry, in a rare moment of openness and vulnerability, he attempts to protect them but is abandoned and forced to pay the devastating price of a curse that will torment him for the rest of his life.
