Summary
Paranoid and defensive, Ivy is a teenager trying his best to survive in a world where he perceives everything and everyone as a threat - even the only person whose affection for him is genuine. An evergrowing threat of nocturnal creatures murdering innocents catches the attention of the few who chose to accept him into their rebellious group, going as far as to promise themselves the head of one. Once their plan goes awry, in a rare moment of openness and vulnerability, he attempts to protect them but is abandoned and forced to pay the devastating price of a curse that will torment him for the rest of his life.

Summary
Life was normal. Everyone was going through their usual routines, living their normal lives like they should. It was a bit boring and a bit mundane... especially for some people. Just like Alex who worked security. Going to bed the day before Black Friday in America, he'd thought it'd be a bit more exciting when he'd wake up the next day.
Until... well, when he woke up... things were veeeeeery different.
Something emerged from the depths of Eastern Europe... everyone thought nothing of it. Whatever it was, people believed it had to be a fairy tale or a hoax... people definitely thought of it as a joke. Though everyone wondered why their circadian rhythm became broken throughout recent times too, and how sunrise was thirty minutes later each day while sunset became thirty minutes before.
Then people started biting each other.
