Summary
Jayce’s mouth spilled drool haphazardly. He inhaled the scent clinging to Viktor's bed, fist clenching at his sheets.
‘I miss him’, Jayce laments internally, shoving his nose further into Viktor's pillow, where the smell was the strongest. Realistically it would smell of sweat and moth balls, the room barely used as Viktor spent most of his waking hours in the lab, attempting to finish work as his condition weakened his body, trying to leave a notch in the fabric so as to not be forgotten.
‘I have to get out, I shouldn’t be here’, Jayce thinks to himself, snapping back to reality, smelling Viktor’s imminent mortality in his sheets.
He moves from the place he lay on Viktor's bed, an unwanted intruder in a room he was not the owner of, when he hears a soft click of the door. Jayce’s eyes open slightly, trying to determine where to go, but not having enough time to make an escape without being noticed. He has to sit with the consequences of his decision.
